Never goes like you planned, but we got through it...
64 overnight, but still muggy. At least not so bad... 88 top temp so hot enough... Humidity was rough all day.
Samples packed and was getting on "good jeans/clothes"... phone rings...DS.... bring something to pull this yellow truck off...
Agree, open up the already burst out part, squeeze/work out any more junk... wash off with clean water... and some antibacterial spray around the surface... It will take a few weeks to heal over as long as all the "junk" is out... You can take an old rag with very warm soapy water, and use it...
I agree with eliminating a food if it is causing problems... I tend to think that it might be more what is in the feed.... type of corn etc grown and used....and any corn grown commercially is usually "roundup ready" which does have the gene spliced in so that the corn plant is not killed when...
I'm going to refrain from any major reaction... but please tell me what antibiotics are fed routinely to chickens that produce eggs for the store or for restaurants? They are not just routinely fed antibiotics... but are used to treat diseases in the birds when necessary. And the practice is...
Had to put yesterday's samples in the shipping boxes... no "racking list" to look at so put them in numerical order in the trays first... THEN had to fill out a lab list... just like the racking list... so took extra time... But got it done and then dropped them off on the way to test.

@SageHill ... I cannot think of the name... used to be we used a "rabon block"... molasses type block with feed through suppression... the larvae do not develop in the manure. Not sure if this one has "clarify" in it...
Have seen it added to loose mineral also... but right now we are using...
But as @Mini Horses pointed out, after a number of offspring from a male.... stallion or bull or ram.... the odds of what they will produce are greatly increased.
In cattle, and I believe horses, it is called "Prepotence".... meaning the male is more likely to pass on certain traits to the off...
You are 2 weeks into this deal... no bad smell, you are seeing/looking at it regularly when changing the bandage... no red inflamed tissue, no puss, inflamation, or anything... sounds to me like it is healing. As long as he does not get an infection, GIVE IT TIME.
Tetanus anti-toxin is...
:fl:fl Takes 24 to 48 hours to get into their system and start working, so not surprised to still see snotty noses... hopefully it will show some improvement after tomorrow... If you do see some improvement, you might want to do a 5th day as insurance...
How is their breathing sounding? How...
WONDERFUL 65 overnight.... but the humidity is over 50% and the forecast is for clouds and sun... we will not get what @Mini Horses will see from the hurricane coming up the Atlantic... Might get some clouds but precip is doubtful. There is a front coming from the west and hoping it will drop...
I took a quick last minute trip over 9 hours to meet @Baymule IN PERSON ... all the way to @Mike CHS and Teresa's house... in Tenn.... stayed 24 hours but I wanted to meet in person.... @Mini Horses and I have been meeting at a poultry swap for several years, twice a year... now have...
"Show people" have ruined many breeds of animals in all types of livestock... Dogs, cattle, horses, chickens... Looks are NOT all that there is but for show people, that is what is emphasized... and the only thing a judge can use at that time, in that setting, so compare animals...
Sheep dog...
Sunday was just as hot and humid, I did very little all day. It was too sticky to try to get the cows in.
I did go up there about 12-1pm... checked them and they were down under the trees near the water and then meandered up along the far fence line. I left well enough alone.
I felt...
The highest Joules that I have ever seen in solar is 2... maybe 3 ????? If you go to Premier electric fencing, they have all sorts of electric netting, wire, and information about electric and how to fence... you might be able to find something stronger...as they carry several different...
:welcome
I echo all that @Mini Horses said... I am on the opposite side of the same state as Mini..... in fact we get together twice a year at an annual poultry swap, with all sorts of other goods offered... Have a great time walking and looking and catching up.
My DS .... meaning "darling...
It was hot and miserable humid today. Hit 90 but the humidity was rough... You know how you get the days that look and feel like it is going to rain it is so "thick".... well that was today.
Checked the heifers on the way to work, and all is well. It was too hot to even think about trying...
