Oh dog prickly hair is awful. Especially when it gets all in your shirt and stuff....and I hate sliver cuts, so I am gonna be sure to be careful with my boys when they get here.
That's how my Grandpa would train the calves and the goat he got me as a pet when I was a kid. It about killed me to watch at the time, but as an adult I totally get it now. I definitely want them to respect it and just stay away, I'd rather not have issues! :) haha
Goslings need a high protein feed, like a game bird food if I'm not mistaken. To me, it sounds like a food issue....but as has already been said, they might be able to help you more over at BYC.
Does or has anyone used electric tape or rope instead of wire? Is it ok for goats? I was thinking it might be good for visibility, both goat AND human.
Be careful. A horse that hasn't been ridden in two years, to me, would need to begin again with some refresher training. I wouldn't consider her kid safe.

I have a friend who allows her gelded donkey to run with the goats. One of the does is actually very fond of the donkey and chooses to hang out with him more than the other goats.....the donkey seems to just deal with it. He doesn't seek her out for company.
