I love the electric netting from Premier1. We use it as a movable, temporary pen to allow the goats to forage in brushy areas, and also as a kid pen. Just make sure to use a low-impedence charger (we have a Zareba from TSC) and keep the fence hot. Good luck!
I have to chuckle every time I see someone say that goats won't be happy and/or do well on pasture. That's just not the case! We just moved from 64 acres of gorgeous pastures to 5 acres of woods. My goats thrived on those pastures, and the ONLY time I supplemented with grain was when the does...
Thanks. We won in court, but the dogs' owner hasn't paid yet. The two remaining does both gave birth on March 13 - the LM had triplets and the Nubian had twins. However, the Nubian stole two of the other doe's triplets, so she's now nursing 4 - hateful heifer! LOL
I've noticed the opposite with my Nubians. My oldest doe - age 4 - has a "belly" but is sunken in around her pelvic area and always has been. She's extremely "dairy" and a fantastic producer - she just puts everything she has in the bucket :)
