Im pretty sure its heat..
Shes a pretty quiet goat (unless shes hungry) and her calls are just.. weird. Very out of character.
Ive put them in a 12x12 and hes sniffed her a couple times and shows *slightly* more interest.
The way shes gently rubbing her nose up and down his front legs and...
I removed her, but I dont have a place where they cant see or hear her.
All he is worried about it her.
He is still not interested :barnie
I even took some of her urine and swiped it on his nose, nothing
Ive seen him take a sniff at her tail area and just walk away.
Shyanne is becoming more...
:idunno
Goats..
My lowest goat on the rung is in raging heat, tail going a million miles an hour
..problem is, my new yearling buck is too "involved" in the first doe (Momma) he got to mate, over a week ago. He eats with her sleeps with her follows her around like a sad puppy.... :rolleyes...
Im going to be building a simple goat house. It will have 2 "stalls" that face the outside
Each stall will be 5 foot wide and 6 feet long(door going on long side). How wide should the (swinging) door be?
Does can be butt heads (literally!)
They seem better aquanted this morning.. Hes atleast eating in the same area as they.
Hes a very sweet boy.. and I guess its not fair that hes dehorned.
I havent gotten to watch too much interaction, but hes staying where he can easily escape if one...
Or atleast she should be open.
I saw her in heat the day after my buckling died...
Yesterday I put a new buck (11 months) in with them. She was either going into heat or coming out.
She is black skinned so when she goes into heat her vulva turns pink.
It was just a tad pink yesterday with a...
They hate him :barnie
Pretty sure 2 of them are in heat and they still beat hin up.
All 3 of them would corner him then ram him and they will endlessly chase him
He is as tall as my largest, just not as filled out.
If I sit with my goats long enough theyll decide my hair is a pretty good snack.. :sick
Maybe spray some kind of bitter spray on the dogs hair?
Like the sour spray they make to deter puppies from chewing
I have finally located a Oberhasli buck! :clap
I had a yearling buckling that recently died (grr, long story with that one :somad) that my Senior does HATED.
Well, except my lowest ranking doe.. She needed someone to hang out with I guess.
Anyways, Im going to pick the new buck up Saturday...
My does dont like the dogs much..
Caesar is always trying to befriend something.
The bantam rooster will sometimes try to get buck on the does and they will fight him off..
Its actually pretty funny to see.
I would probly "starve them out".
Leave them in the shelter once youve got them in there. Give them fresh water but make sure they get good and hungry...
Go out a few times a day and offer something by hand (pick a green branch off something, or grain, or hay). If they dont want to take it...
I think being that far along you can probly "feel" for it.
Stick your hand up between the udder and the stomach with a good amount of pressure and wait for movement.
Shes not going to like this very much but then again... goats dont really like anything being done to them.
Lucky the SO is a logger so I can just go through property they are about to clear out and gather what I need.. and Im surrounded by 50 acres that has been foreclosed on since weve moved in.
Smooth Sumac has invaded the area and is the PERFECT height and size and is VERY flexible.
I expect itll...
