    my bees arrived today!

I cannot figure out how to start a question so please forgive. Huge vegetable garden every year. What fun! Researching to add bees - I am bug bite "reactive" and very bee ignorant as far as proper care. I know seems silly to some but as so many are being lost that I would hate my ignorance to...

    Pawing issues

Usually old school is a paw/kick chain. Some horses will want to rear up though. In that case as she has kids around her horses... My sister got this thing called a "QuitKick" and put it on the door (its water paw deter type thing). You can probably google to find it.

    What Correction for LGD Behavior?

I am a firm believer that static is not a substitute for training but any dog after proper personalized training and investment of time and consistency is not "getting it" AND (not or) is or becomes a safety issue. Yep...time to consider static. Training is what I do... I work with dogs family...

What and how much to feed my LDG 10 week old puppies...

Not breed racial... means I don't discriminate by breed... I evaluate a dog by temperament. i also consider a breed for longevity/health so I consider a breed's pro/con when I help resource for suggesting a family dog of course. Yet, I've seen mutts and mixes with better temperaments than one...

What and how much to feed my LDG 10 week old puppies...

Wow... that must be flux for the Greats. Our GSD dogs are kept lean show condition (even when seniors we still keep a waistline on them so weight is easy on the bones). Our GSD live to be 13-16 year old ... usually no sign of any old dog cricks until after 12. We can't have that kind of flux in...

What and how much to feed my LDG 10 week old puppies...

First... I neglected to mention in previous post for the original question about the pups... a lot people believe mistakenly that extra/more calcium makes stronger bones... no no and no. Fast growing large/giant breed puppies given too much calcium can cause bone and joint developmental...

FYI: When checking out food ... a site that I refer for someone that wants to learn about food and get started... What and how much to feed my LDG 10 week old puppies...

We raise GSD... most GSD pups are born a pound give or take a few oz... our 1lb8oz + in our line... one of our favorite sires is 98-102 at show weight (big boy for a gsd but top in nation for futurity/maturity in 2012 and perhaps 2013 (we'll see)... even though prevalent in breed, we are...

    Lean hogs

This might sound goofy to some people but I swear by it... our handful of pigs the 2013 season (get in the Spring and butcher in late Fall ... Late late October... ( a couple were sold at Fair) the quality of our meat is super... our pigs have space to move... over 1/2 acre for the four them...

Sad and just need to write it down.

Cheesecake... can't fix it but sure can't hurt... just curious though if you lost lost them or if they passed ... and if they passed within 24 hours of receiving them... perhaps there was something wrong and they can be replaced? We guarantee health for so long as long as they are duly...

The buck smell was the first think I thought of...Whatever the cause... it needs to be fixed. We have a only had one that was as goofy as yours is acting :) ... Dwarf girl that when coming here as a kid in June was great with the other goats but you wouldn't get a hand on her if she had...

Have you ever had any trouble with animal rights people

At our fair everyone must take barn duty and even the little kids (have adult or teen age 16 or older present also) are there to assure questions are answered and all animals have water and are safe. The barn is gated at night and fair has security then. I really got upset with this type of...

Have you ever had any trouble with animal rights people

If they are not off the deep end... I often act interested in hearing what they have to say and in a kind manner... I tell them I empathize with their feelings because there are some out there that really are abhorrent in their care of animals. I have a garden and buy what I don't grow from...

    goats losing weight!

And you do just what you do. taylorm 17. :) And enjoy your critters. Though a snowblower is much more easy to make path with in winter. I am at top of a hill and the drifting is ridiculous. I always check my perimeter of fencing and area to their play structure before winter so no surprises to...

goat people... suggestions welcome and needed

I don't know if this will help... Creating a safe warm spot ... I run an outdoor HD electric extension to a multi outlet surge protector (cover the outlets without something plugged in them) that sits right outside the stall ... a heat lamp (cord up outside stall and use a heat lamp hung at a...

    Help Please! New to goats

I have yet to see this condition in all the years. I know there are different types of mites/mange causes... I did not know this kind and had to look it up. I have only seen canine skin mite condition and years ago mange on a rescued horse's neck and once on a cat dropped off at farm across...

    goats losing weight!

I don't like starting with this kind of sentence... I don't want to scare you but perhaps they have eaten something that has caused a partial obstruction and hopefully not something that may perforate the intestinal if it makes it that far... as that is typically deadly? That is not common but...
