Missy had another kid last night. She gave birth to twins back in March. Didn't realize she had gotten knocked up so quickly after putting her back in the main pen. But, she had an adorable, tiny 2lb 11oz doeling. And she is so cute!! Anyone else had a kid so tiny??
I have some goat milk replacer from Manapro that I bought last summer for a bottle baby. The bag wasn't finished, and has been stored in a bathroom cabinet, sealed, but not air tight. Is it ok to use it for the new kids? They are a few days old, but as I said in a thread last night, the doeling...
UPDATE: Just gave her a bottle and she sucked down like 6 oz!! She was hungry!! I gave her some colostrum I had in the freezer from another doe. I'll start giving her MannaPro goat milk replacer next time. Should I mix it with the colostrum, or just go straight to the replacer?
So Missy's...
UPDATE: Added new, better twin pics!
Missy had her kids! Yes....KIDS!! :celebrate :celebrate :weee :weee
And we missed the WHOLE thing! She didn't show any signs. My daughter went outside and came back in saying Missy was screaming. Oh hell...Adam and I grabbed our shoes....and missed it...
*PICS added*
Hello again! It's been a while since I have been on here, but I'm a little worried about my pregnant goat. She's been showing signs of being in labor for a few days, but still no kid. This is my third birth, second with her. She's a Nigerian Dwarf. She has had a swollen vaginal...
So, in a pinch I had to get a bag of alfalfa hay made for rabbits. The protein percentage is 13. Is that ok for my goats? I have a buck, pregnant doe and a weanling. All are Nigerian Dwarfs.
My bottle Fed kid us about 6 weeks. When and how should she be weaned? She is not even a little interested in feed. Hahaha We do try to keep feed out for her.
So, we have decided to sell one of our adult pygmies since breeding her has become a problem because of her udders. We lost one of our babies because she couldn't nurse both and she refused the bottle. So we are bottle-feeding the one we have left and decided to keep her. She is nowhere...
Just realized I never posted pics of our new kids...just born 48 hours ago! This is our Dixie, and her two new girls. And I think our Missy is pregnant again, too!
I have a Mama goat that kidded 48 hours ago. She had two healthy girls. All are doing great except the doe has one udder that swollen, red, and warm. She won't nurse out of that side at all. I tried to put a warm towel on her and massage it to milk it some. No luck. So I bought this injectable...
My doe has weaned her kid at 6 weeks. All my goats are on Goat and Kid feed. Do I need to worry about constipation in the kid because of her diet change?
My aunt gave me her goat that she didn't have room for. She is a cross between Nigerian Pygmy (which is what our other two are) and brush goat. She is very healthy, and pretty! BUt, my aunt had her under a year, and said the previous owners had given her her shots. So, it's been under a year...
Hey everyone. Our kid is now two weeks old. Should we give her her first CD&T? The first one is due between 1 and 3 weeks, right? She just seems so small. lol And if we do give it to her, is it the full recommended dose? Thanks!!
So yesterday my husband and I noticed Missy may be pregnant. Yeah....."maybe". Then two hours later she gave birth. True story! She had one baby and both Moma and kid are healthy and happy. And the baby is sooo cute!!
I have been getting mixed info for worming my Nubian Pygmies. I have some Panacure Equine Wormer for my daugher's show lamb....can I use that for the goats, too?
We were about to give Missy her second CD&T shot today, but noticed her udders were slightly swollen, and her belly is pretty tight, and a little bigger. BUT, not sure if she is just getting bigger because spring has finally showed up here. LOL Sam has been trying to start some goat-lovin'...
I bought this Safe-Guard dewormer for goats yesterday. Has anyone used it? I was gonna just buy the food dewormer if I ever needed it, but the vet gave Sam a dewormer the other day and I didn't wanna double-dose him. Now I think Missy needs it because she is really skinny. But, my question is...
We were about to give the goats their CD&T shots, and noticed Sam was peeing blood. :( So after loading him up and taking him in, the vet looked him over and explained to us about stones. I guess he had a stone that was having a difficult time passing. He was eating and drinking just fine...
So I got the CD&T vaccination from TSC, but I'm not sure on the dosage? It's 10-dosage bottle, and it says 2 cc's per goat, but it doesn't say anything about the weight of the goat. o_O Mine are Nubian Pygmy's, and one we know for sure is a kid (born in December). Don't know if they had...
We have been feeding our goats just the Dumor pellets, but I want to mix it up a bit. Like make a good mixture of the pellets with some other types of feed. I have heard they like sweet feed for horses, and my oldest has show rabbits, and the goats love the show feed she feeds them! BUT, the...
