Does anyone have a picture of a chocolate tort holland lop? I have a doe whom I've thought was a black tort but when she was caged up with a supposed chocolate (for breeding) he seemed duller then her. She has a more orange, then brown coloring, more like a chocolate but I'm not sure if she's...
I'm trying to downsize my herd and have too many does at the moment. Mars is a full blooded Nigerian Dwarf goat. She's 2 years old and only kidded once, which was recent. Shes still in milk. She pretty good at letting you handle her and likes to be petted. I will post pictures when I get home...
Sorry to hear that. Hopefully you figure out that's wrong.
Honestly me either but it makes sense. I've seen the same problem in cats and dogs. I foster/rescue so I've seen it more then once. I agree with you. Before I took her to the vet I basically did everything that they would have...
My husbands into the lops and wanting to breed a few times. He was going to buy the buck to pair with a female he's also getting from the lady but now I'm not sure. I don't want to breed a rabbit that could have offspring with the same kind of problem.
So does that mean if his hair was brushed or groomed regularly his color would darken? This is the first time I've heard of that happening (generally new to rabbits) and didn't know that could happen lol I'll have to look it up.
I didn't think he was because he looks so different but I'm not familiar with the proper color terms. I'll have to look up seals. He's not mine but actually a bunny I'm interested in buying.
Honestly I have no idea lol I just know he looked gorgeous.
Thanks everyone. She's doing great and almost all of her furs come back in. They ran a blood panel test on her and everything was fine. They said it was more then likely hormonal.
I don't think space is an issue but it's a possibility. She lives in a hutch that's 4-5 ft long by 2 1-2 feet wide. Then the run outside she goes into is a couple inches short of 8 feet and 4 feet wide. When ever I feed her or need to get into her cage, she doesn't back up but comes to the front...
So earlier when cleaning my does cage she became extremely aggressive for the first time. Aggressive enough for me to do a double take and remove my hands. When I first got her she would scratch here and there, and I was fine with that, because it was an occasional thing. Within the last week...
I was always told (before I got rabbits) to hold them with one hand supporting their front feet and another underneath for support but since getting rabbits I've noticed a lot of people scruff them and I hate it. Everytime I see a rabbit scruffed I cringe and it's not just a couple people I've...
I gave her a bath when I got her (I use dawn too) but might give her another one just to see if it helps. I didn't use oil but that's a good tip.
I've only had her since the end of March and gave her the cooper supplements not even 2 weeks ago. I believed it to be a selenium deficiency so was...
For a couple of months I was told. Supposedly the land they were on lacked selenium and she said she had this problem with other goats as well. I can't get any pictures right now but can post some tomorrow.
I've looked closely at her skin, at different areas and honestly didn't see any but...
I bought 3 Nigerian Dwarf Goats a few months ago to add to my existing small herd and was told one of the does had a selenium deficiency (because I was concerned with the hair loss on her face and down her back) which I was fine with, knowing I had what I needed to fix that. She has since then...
