I’m at a loss with this guy. On april 15 he weighed 17lbs, weighed today and he weighs 14.3. He has suddenly gotten much skinnier.

After feeding:
He has access to good quality hay, creep feed & water. I have been giving him powerpunch once a day, gave him fortified Vitamin B...
I am pretty positive she will pass but what all would you try? She was fine when I picked her up yester afternoon but then sfter her first feeding, she developed this. (I left my farmhand feed her and honestly I think she got too much air or maybe some in her lungs because she wasn’t listening...
Does anyone process their own raw wool? I want to learn how to do it and am at the stage where I need to purchase some hand carders and I am completely clueless. There is like 4 options, #1, #2, #3, #4 which means nothing to me :ep
Thanks!
Hello!
I am finally being a good Shepard and registering my flock with the USDA. I left a message for the veterinary services guy to call me back with a premises & flock ID number to be assigned. Waiting on a call back. Is that all I have to do to get them, simply call in and request them...
Baby one is here. Mom was still plugged, guessing born within 1-2 hours from when I found him. Got some colostrom from mom but not enough. Dipped navel in iodine. Feeding with syringe. Mom did not care AT ALL about the baby. Spent 30 minutes trying to get him to suckle from her. Neighbor is...
Hello!
Is anyone from the hill country area of Texas? Starting the process of figuring out exactly where I'd want to move. Looking to get at least 10 acres. Going to be heading down there this summer to start looking around/getting an idea for the area.
Thanks for the help :)
This is the lamb that keeps getting her head stuck in the fence. I have tried to cool her down and have fenced her under shade now woth water and food. Anythinf else I can try? She usually is rambunctious as soon as I 'free' her. Not this time at all :(
So my friend (who is helping as a farm hand until she moves to Texas to get her own place) has an old loafing/run-in shed she said we could have. I know we'll need to re-enforce it some but the roof is in excellent shape and I will put new siding over the old siding. Thinking of tearing it down...
So as many of you know we got our property foreclosured on and the previous owners were PISSED. They tore down & up all kinds of things so we are starting from scratch. I finally got tired of tripping over the post holes left over from the fencing they tore up. What would you do? Fill them up...
So this is part of the story of why I have been MIA lately:
The Jeep & I fought a tree about a month ago. Basically the vehicle 3 cars up randomly slammed on their brakes, causing a chain reaction. Me driving manual knew I couldn't slow down fast enough (yes I had lots of space but they...
Does anyone have any opinions on these and whether they are worth it? Yes I have a small herd right now but I really do not like bringing people from outside in, I'd like to do it all myself. The boy has given me a max of $350 and these seem to have some good reviews. But I trust you guys more...
So I need to fence in the perimeter of the property and we are lucky enough to have the original blue prints. Our property is not square at all, do I read the smal numbers shown in the blueprints? 448.55, 262.53, 239.60, 165.23, 275.61 & 1087.18?
Also, I want to replace the just 3 strand...
So we got a large STURDY pallet recently from some metal we got delivered. We were going to burn it but I really think it would make a good base for maybe a shelter? I am not sure, what do you guys think?
Yes I am obsessed with re-using things, sorry! :p
(Sorry for the mess)
We've looking into getting a donkey or a mini donkey for quite a while and found what appears could be a good fit. He is 10 years old & broke to ride (important for my nephew). They are asking $500 which I think it fair but what should I ask if I go meet him? I don't want to seem dumb but this...
So I just put a call out to a local livestock vet to come check on my herd. I am scared half my goats have pneumonia. A local friend thought her goats had barn cough and suddenly lost a few not that long ago. A neighbor had told me they thought it was barn cough & I stupidly listened but its...
The boy and I are going to look at some investment properties in Breckenridge, Co the weekend of the 20th. (I suggested looking for some in Texas but noooooo) :smack
As this will be our first time leaving the farm and using a 'farm sitter', what should we look for and/or what questions should...
