    Coughing kid

I brought my lil guy in and the vet prescribed him nuflor. It seemed to help a little, but within a few days of the last dose he was coughing a lot again. So now we are gonna try oxytetracyine. Hoping this takes care of it. My poor lil guy :(

    Juliana pig

Wow. She got that naughty? I'm starting to think twice about this :/ Thanks for your input. I appreciate it!

    Juliana pig

Yes, I've found the price ranges from $50-$1500. Obviously somebody's scamming with that. And how cruel to starve them to keep them small! The research I've done says they can get up to 45-60 pounds sometimes? And they do best as house pets? I guess if I proceed I definitely need to see the...

    Juliana pig

I do not have a place in mind yet. I've been doing lots of research. From what I understand is they do well as house pets, which would be fine, but also should have outside time. So I was hoping it could spend time with my goats. But I was reading some of the forums on here and people were...

    Juliana pig

Do any of you have Juliana pigs? I've been thinking of getting one. Do they get the size of a beagle? Do they do well with chickens and goats?

    Sick baby goat

Ya, pretty much his behavior...and obviously the coughing. But like I said he's done it from the beginning. But when it didn't stop, and he's just not as playful as I think he should be, I figured I better have him checked out. They are my first goats, so I've been reading everything I get my...

    Sick baby goat

Yes, he gave him nuflor. To be given every two days total of 3 injections. Gave the first tonight. Hubby is NOT a good restrainer, some was on my boys coat so he obviously didn't get it all. He didn't mention him having any heart issues. He doesn't have a fever nor any nasal discharge or...

    Sick baby goat

My baby boy has pneumonia. The vet said its not unusual for goats to get it. Does this mean it's something he'll always have issues with? He's only 4 months old. And I think he's had it awhile...because his only symptoms are coughing. He was a bottle baby and he'd drink way to fast and then...

    Lights??

Do you all have lights in your goat houses? We don't have power ran out to it and I'm trying to think of a way to get some light in there this winter. My husband suggested a solar light, but we live in Minnesota :/ we don't get much sun in the winter. For our chicken coop we have an extension...

    Medical books

I got a couple books on Amazon. One of them is called Pygmy goats: management and veterinary care. So far it has more medical info then the other books I've got. Which is what I've been looking for. Most of it is goat info in general, not just Pygmy. And it was fairly cheap :)

    Coughing kid

So if I treat with duramycin (antibiotic?), would I wait for the cough to clear and then vaccinate for pneumonia? You vaccinate everyone? I only have the two, one girl & one boy. The girl has been great, no problems. The boy has one problem after another :( I got them from different places. Do...

    Coughing kid

My little boy has this wet cough thing goin on?? When he was on the bottle he would drink to fast and then have a wet cough where he would sound like he was clearing his throat. He's been off the bottle almost 2 weeks but he still has this gurgling wet cough. I had him to the vet last week to...

    Wet straw

I don't have stalls or a whole barn, just a shed that's about 10x10, we converted it to a pretty cool house for them. But I see I'm gonna have to do something differently.

    Wet straw

I've already decided to switch to wood shavings, but was hoping I could wait till I clean it out in the fall, but not sure I should wait :/

    Wet straw

They've only been out there a couple weeks. I kinda spot clean everyday, but I wasn't going to clean it out completely until fall, like I do with my chickens. They have a fenced in area outside, so they aren't in there a lot. I was just really surprised when I felt wet hooves :/

    Wet straw

I have straw on the floor of my kids house. I think I'm going to switch to wood shavings. But I noticed that my boys hooves were damp when I went out this morning. The top of the straw is dry, but down in the bottom it's wet. Should I be turning the straw?

    Testicles?

What's the difference between browse and pasture/grass?

    Testicles?

It is a good thing as far as letting his urethra and penis develop. He actually wants me to wait a little bit longer (around Labor Day) to have it done. He wants me to wait until he's showing interest in my little female. As for his horns, he said they can be done at the same time. He talked...
