LOL! Yes, it was the first sleet/snow of the year. My dogs are pretty smart about their comfort! I love the look on my male Laekenois face - You idiot, what are you doing out in the weather???? Built the kennel in 1985 for 11 Irish Wolfhounds after buying the house. Our idea was it should...

Here are a few photos of my kennel and the remodeling done for the sheep and ducks. My dogs are now house dogs. Chain link fencing removed between runs, feed bunk built, and duck run covered with wire and shade cloth to protect them from predators and provide shade. LOVE my little Call ducks...

I lucked out. My family owned, exhibited, bred (since the mid 1960s) and I judge Irish Wolfhounds. Our kennel building was made with Irish Wolfhound sized stalls and doors. The building transformed perfectly for sheep. I will gather up some photos and post later today.

    Hello from East TN!

There are some awesome Boxers out there doing herding trials and titling! Neat breed for sure! And yes, my dogs too enjoy being house plants. Their most favorite place is to either nap or be under foot wherever I need to be in the kitchen.

    Hello from East TN!

They handle cold well. Belgians as a breed are true working dogs. They MUST have work to be healthy physically and mentally. As to how they are around children, I don't have the answer. I'd ask a breeder who has children.

    Hello from East TN!

Herding as a sport is expensive, time consuming, demands acuracy and HARD! I think there are many farm dogs that do chores on stock everyday. Those dogs are invaluable to their owners!

    Hello from East TN!

Oh I've never heard of a Spanish Alano! So many interesting rare breeds. Actually, in every other country, except the USA, the Belgian Shepherd (also known as the Belgian Sheepdog and Groendahl in other countries), Belgian Tervuren, Belgian Malinois and Belgian Laekenois are recognized and...

    Hello from East TN!

Oh you'll be sorry you asked for pics ;-) My fellow herding student friends are also great photogs. Most of my photos are of duck runs. My male Laekenois is a dual herding champion and happened to work very well on ducks.
