    Rabbit sausage needs help

Honestly I eyeball it... the meat is already cooked... I like the texture of barely cooked onions, so I leave them raw in the mix... and the stuffing is generally just the box stuffing (you can obviously use homemade) I broil them in the oven until the mushrooms look cooked... it doesn't take...

    Processing hides

My daughters and I fleshed a hide last night. I THINK we did it right - there doesn't seem to be any "meat & fat" left... but there are still little strips of what looks like membrane, but it's not.coming.off. without pretty much taking off the last layer of "skin" and exposing the pores...

    Rabbit sausage needs help

I chop those up (cooked) with bacon, onions, garlic and mix it with bread stuffing into mushroom caps... I'm particularly fond of the flavor pairing of rabbit with sage or tarragon

10 days old today - when to change environment

Eyes are fully open and they're definitely more active. They're in their own little space now, so they're exploring a little bit... but still mostly sleeping. They're 2 weeks now (they were born 2 Monday nights/Tuesday mornings ago)

10 days old today - when to change environment

10 days old today - when to change environment

Hi everyone, I have 10 days old kits - eyes weren't open this morning - I shelve them. My husband seems to think bringing mama for feedings once a day is enough, I think twice a day would be better.... They're also in a cardboard box, with a towel lining it... with mom's fur inside it. I...

What are their breeds / colors?

I was TOLD the 2 small bucks were mini rex. I didn't know enough about mini-rex, and they looked enough like them from the pics... but I've since realized they are definitely not mini-rex, the fur isn't right. I THINK they're polish. They're not very big - about the size of a guinea pig...

New - in Ontario, Canada - raising rabbits

Hi everyone! Recently acquired rabbits in the hopes of being able to better support my family in a more sustainable way of living, which is kind of challenging in my area with all the restrictions and bylaws... but I think we make do fairly well, considering we're trying to homestead in a big...
