First cutting is looking pretty good locally. We got in about 370 bales last
night after the hay guy stopped by. They got it down, dried and baled in
that little window of opportunity this week. We paid extra and they also
unloaded and stacked it for us!! Thank GOD, because husband and I...
Thought you folks would enjoy seeing this article
about sheep branding in the UK. Not doing it on
purpose, but is is happening anyway!

Checking the list of activities at the Ag Expo coming up, they show some
Alpaca related activities in the Demonstration area that I thought might be
of interest to some of you folks.
The site is

I can't remember who on here posted about the wire panels as roof supports for the
tarped roof over their hay storage. They showed the photos and CLEARLY explained
how they did things, how well it worked or how they needed to change things for
the next season.
From reading the posts an idea...
This was recommended for viewing on another forum. Yeah is is a commercial,
but it did make me smile!

I haven't gotten thru all the other videos they have posted off to the side, but will
be working on them. Seem to be pretty enteraining, though...
I have seen some posts lamenting certain breeds of sheep being hard to find. I was
wandering this site and found a number of the less common breeds available on here.

This is the Michigan site...
Just an idea for folks who may be needing tarps to cover stuff. I was given this site for
recycled billboards, which sells the old signs. They are made of heavy vinyl, seemed a
good price for what you get. MUCH heavier than the blue or silver/black tarps you find
at the farm stores...
For sale, very nice Hereford Heifer. Easy to handle, went to the Fair as a 4-H project.
She leads, ties, lifts feet for hoofcare. Nice for clipping and bathing, loves being groomed,
loads into a trailer quietly. Vaccinated.
She was born in March this year, and is very good minded for working...
I found this link on another forum, thought it was very informative and you folks would be interested in reading it. I thought it was neat they had done all this testing to find the information.

Well it is almost Fair time, so we are scurrying around getting all the stuff ready to go. Our Fair starts July 31 with animal check-in that day.
Has been a peculiar summer with DD working almost every day. For what I thought would be a part-time job, she is really putting in the hours! Glad...
I am not normally a pig person, but they can be cute. I do not wish to own any, but looking at them is fine.
I ran across this Craigslist ad, so I opened it for a look. Photos were real cute and ALMOST enough to induce me into buying a pig, colored like the cattle!
Being a Heritage breed...
Registered, dehorned, dun, long-legged, Dexter Heifer. Stands about 42 inches tall. Tagged and tattooed per breed specs. Born Feb. 09, been with a Jersey bull for 8weeks. Should calve in late April or May. Shots all up-to-date.
Heifer leads, ties, loads, hauls well. Easy keeper, looks...
Well things are not going well in Michigan. Mostly we are hoping for some severe temp drops to hit the mosquito population.
Two horses have been put down with Vet diagnosed EEE within 15 miles of me. Not quite right in the AM, Vet stopped by later in the day, horse was staggering, had gone...
I just got my heifer home last weekend after she visited the bull for breeding. We let her settle in a couple days, wormed her, and today I wanted to turn her out again. I figured Miss Carmel needed a bath, de-burring before she was let out. I don't have burrs, after MUCH hard work! She is...
We are all kind of laying about, in recovery mode from last week's Fair. With three animal projects, and all of them showing the SAME DAY, it got rather exciting!
The horse had his classes very early, then again at about 2PM, with daughter scratching out of Halter inbetween those. Prospect...
I guess the question is have you vaccinated for EEE?
We just got a report in the news about EEE being found in 3 horses in the State of MI. This is the encephalitis that can be transferred to humans if horses are not vaccinated...
Our newspaper just had an article about the damp spring and how fast the clover is growing in Kentucky, which is causing gas problems in cattle.
The condition is called "frothy bloat" and it can easily be fatal. The clover causes a foam inside which prevents them from burping, so gas builds up...
Just curious if many folks on here vaccinate the livestock animals for Rabies and tetnus annually? I was reading that old post on dog attacks to pet goats.
We didn't used to vaccinate for Rabies, until there were getting to be regular reports of horse Rabies each summer. Now all the horses...
