    Meet Pearl, New Horse

Speaking of horses ages, here's a link to an interesting article on aging a horse by their teeth. It's newish information on the method taught by Dr. Galvayne in 1885 that is still widely adhered to. ("newish"shows my age I guess. This came out in 1994)

Mornin' everyone! Thanks for the hot coffee, I'm glad it's Sunday and might rain, so a good reason to rest. Work is going great guns, snow is gone, tons of yard work needs doing, I've been so busy haven't had time for sitting and reading... miss y'all! I did chuck all my responsibilities...

    Hey from an Alaskan Texan

Haha! Yes, we have all four seasons, they may not be very evenly distributed, but there are four. Sadly we are full up, barely standing room anymore. :hit The housing market has exploded, my kids have no possible hope of ever buying any land, much less an existing house. Pure insanity. Houses...

    Hey from an Alaskan Texan

Welcome from north Idaho! :frow We have good friends in Homer. Well, half are in Homer, the other half is here. He welds on the fishing boats, she holds down the Idaho fort. I think you couldn't have picked a more dramatic change of climate, but you sound very good natured about it. Best...

Chickens really- My adventure into Goats

I thought I heard a robin singing in the trees the other evening, but haven't spotted any yet. The Pine Siskins on the other hand are mobbing the feeders and making boisterous noisy chatter in the trees. For such little birds they can make some noise. I love hearing it. Chickadees are also...

I'm really enjoying the tour, thanks for being our guide. I never knew that about salmon jumping, it's nice to learn new things, and I agree with you, the Creators handiwork is never boring.

    Hello from Spokane

Hi and welcome from north Idaho! I live 5ish miles from Silverwood. This is an excellent place to get information and friendly helpful advice. Your lambs are beautiful, as well as you LGD's. I haven't heard of Tatras, where are they from?

    Thistleblooms Rambles

Got that right! Have you been spying on me? Yep. I keep my head on a swivel as they say. I think they are here a lot more often than we're aware. It's only when they leave tracks in the snow that we think about them more. There is an occasional sighting, but if they don't want to be seen...

    Thistleblooms Rambles

We usually have it November to Marchish, but this has been a scanty year. If it's going to be cold anyway and way too early for a legitimate spring I'd much rather have snow than ugly bare ground.

    Thistleblooms Rambles

We got some sticking snow at last! Makes me happy to see that clean white cover out there. It also means it's not yet time for my business to start up and that also makes me glad. Poor, but glad. 😄 Here's Syringa enjoying a good snow roll. It's one of the first things she does when I get her...
