There are these thingys (technical term there) called Mosquito Dunks. It's some sort of bacteria that will kill the larvae...but is totally harmless to your other critters. They work pretty well. Edited to add: I think Goatmasta and I are talking about the same thing.

Thanks for the condolences for the little buckling...I think what was so sad was seeing the difference in how Black Spot treated him, she licked him so much more forcefully she did the doeling. Perhaps trying to get him going? After I removed him though, she directed her attentions right back...
