Managed to get some fencing up. Not much, but enough that the dogs have a little area and don't need to be tied on a tether. I opted for treated 4x4 for the corner posts/bracing. Maybe my suburban roots? Reviews and friends told me they had trouble with the round treated rotting out in just...

Well been a very busy month, but we got moved in, and accepted an offer on our previous house. Used up my compost pile, and bought more. Trying to get it onto the garden area in the next month. But need to get the fence up for the dogs first. Got started, but ran out of daylight (and energy :p

Thanks Bay mule, the thought was to move it around to help some of the soil that seems to be lacking. But since the chickens moved up there before the dogs and us i skirted it. That will make moving it tougher, cross that bridge when i get there. I had bought and tested out a Plassen chicken...

Thank you Alaskan, Baymule, Reed canary grass sounds and looks about right. The area it grows is slow to dry out in the spring, and its so thick that it crowds out the blackberry vines. I have about a third of an acre on the other side of the road from our place the road is bermed up so that...

    Grass identification

Hi, I'm just north of Seattle, and have a small field that is covered in some kind of really tall grass. The stuff goes over 6' high. The field just got mowed, but i tried to take a couple of pics of some of it growing in the blackberries. Sorry, terrible pics, and my signature thumb in the...

Our new house is getting close to completion. Did the walk through and pointed out a few things i was concerned about. Some of the sanitary wye's are laid on their side. Always thought the incoming line had to come in from the top. The propane co that sold me the tank said they could scrap...

Thank you very much for the coments and advice :) Truly apprciated! Ridgetop is as sharp as a tack and has learned a bit about dogs, goats, sheep, rentals, and children over the years (and I'm saying those things even though she's my sis). I welded together a tpost driver out of some old...

Hi, New member, actually Ridgetop's younger brother. I was going to make a crack about being the better looking one in the family, kind of a Robert Redford vs. the Munsters thing, but sometimes jokes don't come through as jokes when typed. ;) Just for future reference i have a smart mouth...
