Welcome to the forum!
I also live in NW Ohio!! I'm in the Lima area, so we're only about an 1hr 30mins apart!
Sounds you have quite the variety of animals - how fun! I would love to see pictures of them! I have also (currently) own 5 Nigies, four of which are pregnant and due this...
Welcome to the forum! Your goats are beautiful!! I'm sure they will really enjoy hiking with you this year.
P.S. If you'd like to join another forum, The Goat Spot is a great one!! Everyone there is very kind and helpful.
He has urine scald from peeing on his face so much. The fact that he is scratching his face on the wood doesn't help the situation. Yes, is he your only goat? Do you have does to breed to him?
Here's more info on urine scald and how to treat it...
It looks like she might have some kind of external parasite that is bothering her. Check her over and see if you can see anything (lice/mites).
Sometimes, my goats will do that to when I let them out to pasture - I believe some kind of bug is biting them out there.
My feeding schedule is kinda complicated lol!
Everyone gets loose minerals.
Bucks: Free choice grass or a grass alfalfa mixed hay (depends on what we can find)
Dry does: Free choice grass hay (or a grass alfalfa mixed hay)

Hello! Welcome to the forum!
Huh, I've never noticed any kind of smell from CD/T when using it. I've also never purposely tried to smell it, so maybe I've just missed it? I don't know, that's strange. What brand are you using?
I put down enough straw (or wasted hay) to make sure that the top is always clean and dry (a few inches). So really, I have to keep adding some every once in awhile. As long as the top is clean, and dry, you should be good though. You could also figure out where their favorite sleeping...

Unless you are using an herbal dewormer, goats should ONLY be dewormed when needed. Otherwise, the worms will build a resistance to the dewormer causing it to no longer be effective. It is proven that worms can NOT build a resistance to herbs though.
You can tell if goat has worms by their...
Welcome to the forum!
What is his temp? Is he eating and drinking fine? Normal poop? Acting normal? Could he have gotten hurt causing him to walk stiff/weird? What is his famacha score?
I'm guessing your friend had an intact buck and not a wether. Bucks can be very mean and nasty, but wethers aren't.
I think either does (females) or wethers (neutered males) would be a great choice for you! Either two of the same gender or one of each will work. ;)
Each individual goats has their own personality. Some love attention while others simply don't want anything to do with people.
Wethers are going to to have the most consistent personality as the change in season won't affect their mood/behavior like does and bucks.
Nigerian Dwarf does will...
Just like anywhere else you buy animals, be careful. Some people might just being trying to get rid of disease ridden animals, while others actually have great quality and truly care about their animals.
I have both sold and bought goats (animals) off of CL and got mixed results. I would...
