Ok - please no one yell at me...
I don't know where else to post this & it was caused by my buckling
so here it is...
Long story short-
The babies were disbursed yesterday.
One was bleeding a bit today so I sprayed some blu Kote.
The baby whipped his head back & smeared the blu kote all over the...
I 'm really embarrassed to say that I bought a pound at the healthfood store & it was wicked expensive! I *think* I saw it for sale through Poulin or Green Mountain but it's still pricey! With only 5 goats I may be able to get away with it.
I'm definitely pro coconut! It smells good! It tastes good! I use it for everything! Something about medium chain amino acids make it a good fat source for dogs too - I think.
Thanks so much for the info! My guys love kelp too but it is expensive so for now they get free choice mins and I add kelp to their weekly "Molly's".
Have a great day, guys! Thanks again;)
I trust Poulin & have used their organic grains for years. They are a family owned business. I also like Green Mountain feeds. I stay way way away from any Cargill "organic" feeds because I don't trust them one bit. I like to use family owned feed businesses as sometimes even their non...
Fiasco has been an amazing source of information for me personally.
Very newbie friendly & with great insight into goat behavior especially.
Good luck!
I'm new to BYH & have read about some really interesting things including:
BOSS - where & what brand do you buy? Can you find organic?
Red Cell - what's this? How is it administered?
Kelp - has anyone used it mixed in with free choice minerals?
Cloves for worming - cool! Powder? Tincture...
I may be mistaken but I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that coconut has anti fungal properties. I use it as a moisturizer (for me) and the goats like to lick it off my hands!
I actually add DTE to the Molly's at the time I make the dosage balls- to make sure they still get the correct amount of herbs.
Just make sure nobody breathes it in.
My guys are so persnickety, one week they love it the next week they show no interest. I've found - with my wether especially that molasses & slippery elm make all the difference. I've been using it for almost a year.
I keep the 'real' wormers on hand just in case but between the Molly's &...
I really like (and my goats & dogs LOVE) 'Molly's Herbal Wormer'. You can read about it on the Fias-co website - the 'Molly's Herbals' section. It's a 2 part formula, super easy to use & I've had no problems with resistance.
You are so cool! Yes, I like to keep as much as I can 'in stock'
I'm a goat/chicken/dog/bunny nerd & tend to be a bit over protective.
I bought (but thank god I've never had to use) 6 week kid syringes when my Molly gave birth the first time. I've got - oh - it's funny... I should just take...
