They are both first fresheners.
I just had the vet out yesterday to draw blood on all my goats to check for CAE, Johnnes and Brucella. I'm gonna call her to see if the lab can do a pregnancy test on them.
My kids and all our friends and family are asking everyday if we have babies yet...
I took my does to be bred on October 11th. Tini was with the buck 1 day (he died on 10/12) I was sure she wasn't bred, but was hopeful as the breeder said the deed was done. She would have been due 3/6 - 3/11 if she was actually bred, which she was not.
Boo was with her buck from 10/11...
The only ones who even care to listen to me ramble on about how wonderful, smart, entertaining and affectionate my goats are, are my goats. I love my goats. :love
No, I did not get him. I decided that I needed to wait and see. He is beautiful. I love the chocolate color and when I do upgrade to a herdsire, rather than a mere "freshener," I'm gonna get a buckling similar to him. However, I figured since I won't be having any goats showing for a couple...
Sounds like you've got a game plan. I didn't and now I'm hoping for a buckling from either of my does so that I can have a wether companion for my buck.
Congratulations on bringing home a buck.
Do you have a companion for him already?
I had to go get another goat just so the buck would have company while my two does kid and are in milk. I made the mistake of getting another doe to put in with him. Feeding time means bringing her out of...
Thanks for all the well wishes. I'm hoping for BLUE as I need a wether companion for my buck, Prince Alex.
On another note, these goats are messing with me. :barnie I separated my buck from Peekaboo and Martini last week because he just started going crazy around Peekaboo. I assumed...
Congratulations. Yay for two doelings. I guess Sasha's making up for the difficult delivery by giving you doelings and such pretty ones too. :celebrate
Okay, so its only been 3 years with chickens and not quite a year with goats and my husband still complains about every thing pertaining to my animals.
Of course, he takes all my eggs to work and sells them and has told me I need to get my chickens to lay more eggs because he's got a lot of...
I'm so excited, only a few more weeks until my does are due to kid. :weee
I've been on here being a pest asking questions and watching everyone's kidding pages. Patiently waiting for my girls due dates.
I figured I'm close enough now, that I could introduce my girls and hopefully soon...
Hi,
I'm probably not the best person to be giving feeding advice, because, frankly, I'm a newbie and I'm convinced I overfeed my goats.
I have nigerian dwarf goats one buck, two bred does and just added a mini fainting doe. The two bred does share one 3qt scoop of goat pelleted feed each day...
I just started raising nigis and just added a very small myotonic doe yesterday, bringing the total to 3 does and 1 buck. They have an 8'X10' shed with a 16' X 16' yard for the winter/rainy days and a separate 24' X 32' play yard with 2 large igloos a couple spools and a childs playhouse/slide...
