My grandmother passed away recently and the land is for sale, very reasonably I should add. Husband and I heard the price and the wheels started turning immediately.
I thought I might run it passed all of y'all though.. you know...unbiased and experienced all you are ;). Seriously.
Our current...
Please welcome the newest member to my little herd unnamed pony! She will need a name. She is a red roan tovero I think. She has one blue eye one brown. Hopefully she will be here in a day or two!
Before you watch read please.
This little bugger is one of twin does and today was weaning day for them. She disagrees though. I put her in the front "pasture" four times today and on the fifth time I saw something like the video.... so I had to do it again this time on video though! She was...
I'm playing around with the idea of no longer breeding my goats. I no longer have the time to milk them and hate selling of the babies every year.
So I'm thinking of wethering or selling my buck and just keeping the most friendly goats. I could always breed the girls to another buck later on...
My small farm is ready to grow with the addition of "guardian" (ei pet). I know our situation isn't suited for a LGD..so a llama or a donkey seem to be fairly good options.
But...does anyone have first hand information on keeping either of these with goats?
I've had alpacas with the goats...
Oh I'm excited! I pick this little girl up Wednesday. She is an AKC basset hound. I think her color is called lemon and I believe she will darken up, but man she is cute. I've wanted a basset for years but they are hard to find in my area.
I need names! I was thinking Gracie, Abigail, Millie...
My husband really wants me to do a beef steer...
I've had cattle on our property before but they had free run of the pastures. Those said pastures are now in use with the goats. I'm not putting a big ol' cow in with my little goats!
My question is can I dry lot a beef steer humanly? If so how...
1. What state/province/country are you in and what is your climate like?
I'm located in northeastern Texas in USA. My climate is hot to mild most of the time. Temps in the summer are normally 95 f to 110 f, winter from 60's f to teens. We have a wet season around March.
2. How many people...
Sorry I wasn't sure where to put this...
But I'm just frustrated and sad, so I just needed to vent.
I lost my mother to cancer this past October. My friend was hit by a car, while on foot, and killed, in November. I lost a pregnancy recently. I lost my grandmother this last December.
And...
I have a weaned and tame female mini potbelly pig and two barely used Kindle fires with chargers and cases. I would be interested in trading for geese, white muscovy ducks, bottle heifer or white goats.
I had been debating getting an outside dog for awhile now but feel it is an unwise move. I've heard that geese can be pretty good at letting you know someone is in your driveway, yard etc. I've also heard that some breeds can be used for weeding a garden.
I'm interested in the white Chinese or...
Ok so my kitties brought home a small snake and I haven't seen this type before. I'm just curious what it is so here are some pics.
My white rock roo ate one about this size last week, it was more green though. I just thought ow well it is a grass snake. .but if there are more oyt there I...
Well what do y'all think? He is 3/4th large black and 1/4th hampshire. They are weaning him the end of October, he was born in August. I told the breeder to just pick me a good one.
Did they pick me a good one?
Well I came home to a wounded goat. No idea how he got hurt but to me it looks like teeth marks on his ears. He was in the pasture with just goats and the barn cats. There are horses next to our property but the fence I think is tall enough they couldn't grab him over. He could have stuck his...
Hi. I need help deciding which pigs I should keep for my little farm. I have two mini potbelly pigs, an old mean duroc sow and a sweetheart Duroc/Hampshire sow.
I was planning on just keeping the two minis and taking the other two to the packing company. But I enjoy having a big ole farm pig...
Alrighty let me start with I have my small parea split into 5 main grazing sections. Right now I have one brush/coastal/rye pasture, two bahia/coastal/native grass, one Tifton and one bluegrass/native/brush.
I'm wanting to get the most out of my little areas so I'm wanting to convert over to...
