wow - now that is really cool.
I have discovered the my two donkeys are much for playing, they are slow movers. They seem happy just eating and chewing on each other - LOL
My boyfriend set up a bucket that has peanut butter in it and with a plank the mice can walk up , they jump in and can't get out. Within days we had six mice (now dead) in it.
works great!!
Yikes - that explains why my goats are so fat this winter. I ran out of goat feed and started feeding sweet feed (for horses, cattle, goats).
Hmmmm it was easier feeding the sweet feed because there are two donkeys in with the goats and they are eat together. ( I had a hard time keeping the...
I just discovered I have a tiny mice problem. I mean the mice are seriously tiny, or they are just tiny babies who knows.
We will try some of these suggestions. We can use poison because it's in our workshop where no free animals roam. Our two rabbits are in there in cages so they can't...
Yep - I agree with The Egg Bandit , use a solid divider. I had some think floor mats I put between my Doe and Buck mainly because of the 'spraying'. The poor Doe was covered with spray one day and I had to cure that fast.
ChickenPotPie - so the corn starch really works???
I just bought two Giant Angoras - the Doe's wool/fur is 1-2 inches long and the Buck sprayed pee on her and it was just awful. I tried a damp wash cloth and that just did not really seem to help. she still had yellow stains on her fur. I...
tortoise - you are funny. Unfortunately if we all didn't want our rabbits for pets it would be much easier, as we would try so hard to bond with them.
My 2yearold Doe is very skittish, I have only had her 3 weeks and she is still trying to 'box' me when I put me hand in her cage to give her...
thank you 'chickenpotpie' (love the name by the way)! The Doe has settled down a lot in a week. She no longer is as aggressive. But she still doesn't want to be picked up. So I'm taking it slow to let her gain trust. I open her cage door twice a day so she can come out at free will and...
Hi all ...
Would a 'new' bunny growl too? Due to fear of new surroundings or new owner.
I just got my 2 two year old doe and buck rabbits less then a week ago. The buck adjusted after a few days and isn't afraid of me any more.
but the Doe does not like me bothering her at all - she growls...
Tortiose - you have a GREAT website , very informative.
One thing I noticed yesterday was both by Doe and Buck (both 2 years old) were aggressive towards me when I put my hand in their cage to get them. Either they need a little time to adjust to their new homes or I've got a problem I need to...
Hi all!
I finally brought home my two Giant Angora's yesterday and got them all settled in.
What is everyone's favorite brush and method of blower?
Here is a picture of them in their cages, the Buck is in the wooden cage ... I'm going to get him an all metal cage with the drip pan like hers...
crazyland - where can I buy bucket warmers? I really need them, seems TN is freezing bad this year.
Royd Wood - well ... we do have wild boar out back, the local farmers kill a few a week. But, I do need some sheep and still trying to decide on beef or dairy cows (oh only one dairy). I'm not...
thank you everyone!!
I love your avatar pictures, that's a great idea.
I guess my first question is - Wow!!! how is everyones animals doing during this cold and snowy winter? I can't keep the ice out of the water buckets - argh!
Hello All!
I have been a member on backyard chickens for a year now.
this summer I moved from The Western NC mountains to Middle TN ... and started collected farm animals.
I have two horses, two donkeys, six goats, two chickens and I am about to get a Angora rabbit this weekend.
I get no...
Hi All!
Seems this Angora forum is pretty old and not many subscribers. Not sure if there is another Angora thread I should be posting to instead.
Does anyone on BackYardHerds raise and keep Angoras?
I will be getting my first Angora, Giant Angora, this weekend if all goes well. And I am...
