    Piglet Savaging

Sorry for the late replies! I am feeding a complete 14% hog food from Klambach. She has been on the same food for the last 12 months. I am surmising that the pig was dead when she decided to consume it. She hasn't shown that tendency since then.

    Piglet Savaging

We are a bit confused tonight. Our Old Spot sow, that had her first litter 2 weeks ago, was found savaging one of her piglets tonight. She has been exceptional up until now and we even planned on keeping a female from her litter for future breeding stock. Now we are unsure if we should even save...

    Which Flooring type?

I was conflicted but I am sure it is the more pratical/logical choice. Logistically, it will be tougher as I will probably need to mix it in cement mixer in small batches... Shall I add a small slope to it in the form of 1/2" drop per 2' ?

    Piglet Scours - Electrolytes?

We are bottle feeding 2 piglets inside because they were the 2 weakest of the litter, extremely chilled, and one of them has a big wound(which we are treating). They are 1 week old today. The one piglet was doing well but developed scours over the last 3-4 days. We have been giving an oral...

Delivery Assistance Needed? - Updated 3-6-15

She is a Tamworth. We have 2 Tamworth gilts(from same breeder), a Tamworth boar(different breeder), and an Old Spot gilt. Watching her this morning I fear that she is overly stressed, traumatized, and tired - will not make it.

Delivery Assistance Needed? - Updated 3-6-15

Nope. Vet will be here in a couple minutes. Gonna be costly but gotta do it. Well vet came and went. Had to pull 2 out. She has some trauma to recover from. All pigs were lost. Six total. The piglets weren't overly big but we surmise the pelvis is on the small side. It's her first litter but...

    Movable Farrowing Shed

We started 2 of the 4 movable farrowing sheds today as we are closing in on the piglet dealine. I got some plans from the internet and modified them a little to hopefully suit our needs.
