Sorry for the confusion, but I ment storing the hay under the deck and just placing a tarp over the top of the hay to keep any water drips from seeping through the deck on to the hay. I have pallets that could keep the hay off the dirt floor.
Does the salt keep the moisture out the hay? Also I have a large deck, could I use pallets and stack the hay under and use a tarp to keep the ice melt/rain off of it but still get air flow on the ends/edges?
I do not have a barn but plan on storing 50 bales of hay for the winter, how do I keep it from going bad? I live in NH. I have some room in my garage next to my car would that work or should I keep it out of the house and use tarps/ pallets outide? Also will mice get into it and ruin it? Thanks...
I am in the process of getting my first two la mancha goats. I plan on breeding the yearling this fall. Wondering if anyone has advice, pictures of your goat sheds to help me build mine. Thanks!
Sorry if this is a stupid question but can you get butter from goats or only cows?........we are a butter lovin family. I am reading a book about dairy goats only on chapter 1, but it says the fat stays suspended in the milk vs. cow milk seperates easily.
Hi there I am wanting milk for my family of 6. Not sure about breeds that tolerate new england winters. How many goats should I'd have for us to have milk and chz? Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated! :)
I live in southern NH!! I am wanting goats for fresh milk. I really got interested in livestock after going to the hopkington fair last year, should have gotten names. Anyone got recommendations for where to get some local goats? Breeds that do well in this climate? Thanks! :)
Hello all-I am in southern NH. I am starting my research for my next project, fresh goats milk. Hope to learn lots, got a new book on dairy goats coming. Literally know nothing about goats, but want to start learning. See if it is something I can do on 2 acres...
