Doesn't seem like a problem huh? Well, it is. I have a lamb that I have been bottle feeding since birth. He is 2 months old and I have tried to wean him away from the bottle. All he does is cry to follow me. I can't go outside because he will jump out of the sheep pen and want to follow me...
UPDATE:
Both lambs are doing good. The brown one that I was so worried about is doing great. She has been on Neomycin for 7 days now. I weighed her yesterday and she has gained 1 lb. The white one that is also bottle fed has gained 4 lbs. The brown baby has normal rectal temps and poop is...
Gotcha. Poor babies. Not sure what you could use. I will try to research and see what i can find. Seems like the only thing would be some type of natural remedies like (and this is just an example), lemon juice, natural oils, water, etc. But I don't know of any recipe.
I use fly ribbons from Walmart. They are only $1.12 for a 4 pack. They work GREAT!!!! They even caught a hummingbird. Poor bird. I place them all over the chicken yard and chicken coops. I have seen a DRASTIC difference/decrease in the amount of flies. Absolutely no smell.
Does anyone know the exact dosage when mixing activated charcoal and water? How much charcoal is needed and how much water is needed? I read posts that say to give charcoal drench but I can't find 1 post that gives the exact amount to give. How would you know if you're giving enough charcoal...
I posted my problem on BackyardChickens and this is one of the replies that I got and here is my update as well.

MY RESPONSE AND UPDATE:
I did a rectal temp last night and it was normal 102.6. I tried to get fecal but she only had 2 pellets around her bottom. I will need to get more. I called the vet and they will be able to do testing as soon as I bring the fecal in.
Are goat and sheep treated the same for parasites? My question is geared toward sheep not goats.
They showed us how to do our own fecals in our FAMACHA certification but I will take a sample of my sheep's fecal to the vet for peace of mind.
Good idea. I will check her temps when I get home. I will have to separate her to get fecals but not sure how to get a fresh sample because it will have touched the ground.
Thanks for your input and suggestions. Much appreciated.
I have had sheep about 8 years and I have never had to treat for worms. I don't like using medications. My FAMACHA training talked about treating for worms and overusing when not necessary. That training confirmed my practices over the years of not giving them anything. I was curious to see...
What meds do you use to treat your sheep for worms? How many days do you use the meds? How often do you treat for worms? Do the meds that you use kill ALL worms?
Thanks for any input.
