far out that looks painful mate! If i was you I would have given him a good old fashion slap across the neck or whip him with a rope across his chest but if you were at his stomache and had no rope i would just plainly knee him in the gut!
If you are into western pleasure then maybe you should look into buying a quater horse or a paint and register him/her in a show, my friends are competing in western pleasure with there mares but I am pretty sure that most of the horses there are registered quater horses or paints. Good luck...
My friend's horse, Millie has the same problem and I think from memory, she is just filing them down and using hoof conditioner on them, they are really bad =( Hope your horses feet get better =}
who can deny love... Its tough.....And I think it would be worth having a go just putting them in seperate paddoks (if you have more than 1) for a while untill they break-up =D
Dodge (thats his name dont actually dodge your horse!!!). It's simple. if he doesnt want to stop he wont, and here comes round one of the fight, free to watch!!! BUt to be honest I would Definitly rate him about a 1-3 like every other horse it depends on the situation at hand =)
I think that a good solution is to slap this donkey on the chest with a lead rope and say leave this works perfectly fine with my friends horsies so it should be the same with your donkey, dont worry if this doesnt change his attitide at first but over time (hopefull not too long) he will...
To lower your horses head and also make it curved my friends told me to jiggle the reins (when i say jigle i mean to slighty tug on one rein and the other numerous times and if the horse is resisting increase the pressure if needed) while you are walking and/or trotting p.s i dont think you can...
