Hi All,
We have decided to keep a commercial sized rabbit breed for meat, 4H, and fun. My childhood love affair with Mini Rex has led me back to the breed, so we have decided on the Standard Rex. Hoping that it will best suit our needs at this time. We are in contact with a breeder that we...
I milked my neighbors 3 weeks fresh Nubian today. Mine are both still pregnant, so she told me to come practice! I milked a few cups, took it home, strained it, cooled it, and tried it! It was my first time drinking FRESH goats milk, and it was awesome! No goat smell or flavor that I was so...
She just laid down and looks like she is trying to sleep! Realllly!? Doesn't she know I'm anxious? I'm going back to the house to warm up. I think I'll check on her again at 10pm.
This is the first delivery I will have attended. My neighbors doe all of a sudden had a full udder this morning, ligaments gone-ish, and at 5 pm, she was streaming thick mucous. Its now 7:25 my time, and I just witnessed her pawing at her bedding. When should I expect babies?
Ive had 2 nubians for 2ish weeks now, and so far they haven't TOUCHED their minerals. I bought purina goat mineral. Is there a particular mineral they like better? Also what is calf manna used for in goats?
Thanks!!!
She DOES need her hooves trimmed. But this sound comes specifically when I left her leg and bend it at the knee. And it doesn't move smoothly like my:fl other doe. Im reeeeeally hoping the vet can help with this one :fl
I have a doe that came from a CAE neg. herd. But she hasn't been tested since she was a yearling. We are testing her again wednesday. My question is, what else causes cracking stiff joints? She is a pretty big nunian doe, she will be 5 in march, and she is currently preganant. Thank you!
My does will be here Thursday or Friday, so I am making final arrangements for their health and happiness :) Here's what i'm thinking, so let me know if I'm missing anything.
Alfalfa Hay, free choice minerals which include copper and selenium/E, fresh water and clean bedding of course, but the...
Do you vaccinate your goats? And if so which are "necsessary"? I just purchased 2 nubians due to have kids in March. I want to make sure everyone is healthy without compromising our natural living/farming ways.
Thanks :)
