    What would you do...?

Thanks guys I might just do that, and I am trying to get better, thanks for the well wishes. I really do feel bad about the whole situation, my goats were like parts of the family it won't be the same here without them but I want them to be well cared for and if I can't do it they are better off...

    What would you do...?

Sorry this is so long but some back story is required: I bought 3 goats from a lady she was very nice and clearly loved her goats very much. I really liked the goats too, but I got sick shortly after buying them, ended up in the hospital, and found out I have a heart condition that does not...

    Registration question!

I have a doe for sale who should be pregnant she was bred to a buck I owned but recently sold him. If the doe's new owners want to register her kids (if/when born) do I need to provide them with a service memo or something? I'm not sure what I need to provide the new owner since the kids are...

How much hay do I need?

How much hay would 4 full sized dairy goat does eat in a year in a state with long cold snowy winters. They would also be fed grain ration 2x a day and have some browse for a few months of the year. Lets say they are either pregnant or milking since that is when they should be needing the most...

    buck?

I like both, the black buck is more tolerant of hands on things but is also always in your face which isn't always a good thing, while the brown buck is friendly and not so in your face, but he's more difficult about getting hooves trimmed and restraining by hand. The black buck is more...

    buck?

So I may need to sell one of my bucks, due to various reasons, I really don't want to though... so I'm working on that. If I had to keep just one or use just one for breeding who would you all use/ keep? They both have awesomely great milking bloodlines, so it really comes down to form. The...

    Oh Buck!

He has a rattle harness on but no marks, then last night when I was putting them in the barn he attempted to mount a doe but no breeding, but thats a step in the right direction so I'll leave them together a little while longer and see if more progress is made. If not I'll take the suggestion of...

    Oh Buck!

I sure hope that's all it is. He was extremely confused when I first got him, he was more interested in human females, and still gets riled up when he meets women he's never seen before. But at least he's acting bucky toward goat females instead of people now...for the most part anyway.

    Oh Buck!

I'm going crazy here. I have a 10 month old buck who is trying my patience. He is very bucky. He pees on his face, curls his lip, flaps his tongue, blubbers at the does, and a few other unmentionables...everything except doing the actual deed. He will not mount the does or even try. One of my...

    Daisy!

Tell me that's not the cutest goat smile you've ever seen! I love my little Daisy, although she's a Saanen so she's not so little anymore I guess. She's such a camera hog!

    Buck for rent.

My friend wants to have my buck breed his does this season, my buck is a registered purebred (Nubian), his does are not registered. Would any of the kids be eligible for registration? and what grade if so? And I would need to file a buck breeding service memo or something right? do I fill that...

    Doe sneezing this morning

I'm going to do that, and I might have the vet come out as well. No more diarrhea or sneezing, but a couple of the goats had clear discharge from the nose and one had more some clear tearing from one eye so I think they might have caught something. Anything come to mind that can cause sneezing...

    Doe sneezing this morning

No temp on her but her herd mate has really bad diarrhea now. Like brown water, last night she was pooping normal pellets and this today. No fever and is eating, drinking, and playing. This doe got into the power punch while I was trying to get the sneezing doe to actually take it, normally...

    Doe sneezing this morning

This morning I noticed one of my does (Nubian) sneezing, repeatedly and licking her nose. She seemed to stop after eating and hasn't done it since, she did feel warm to me and I was going to take her temp but one of the other goats stepped on the thermometer and busted the thing *of course*...

    Solid white Nuban buck??

What a handsome little guy he almost looks like he has black velvet instead of hair/fur. And those blue eyes! Gorgeous buck you have there. The black Nubian I saw was very striking too, no blue eyes though, its one of those colors that I'd never seen before in Nubian goats I guess.

    Unknown sire with ADGA mother?

Thanks guys. I think I'll skip buying this one then...I really shouldn't be buying more goats right now anyway, but sometimes its so darn hard, lol. One more question someone told me a vet could fill out the application for NOA I would think that would only be true if they were a ADGA member but...
