She is adorable - congratulations! How smart! What ball is this? We have something similar and I made a little carton with holes but I haven't found a ball to buy like that. I'd love to know! She sure seems obedient. Cocco still tests the waters :-)
So glad you enjoy my blog - that makes me...
What an adorable name! Glad to hear she's doing well and not making a mess. Cocco is continually making a mess. Please feel free to share her picture with me if you'd like and I'll post it to our Sunday Spotlight at the next available date. You can find my contact info on my blog...
Have they been neutered/spayed? If not, I believe they carry a very strong smell. I'm sure others on here can better advise you, though, since I have only had a pig for a few weeks (and he doesn't smell at all).
bonbean01, they are kind of like a combination of a dog and cat. Ours is still young - only 8 weeks - but we keep a litter box in his little room and let him outside throughout the day. He will only poop outside and 9 times out of 10 he pees outside (the one exception unfortunately being on our...
That is what mine is supposed to be and the breeder definitely sticks to that claim. I have been corresponding with someone who got a pig from her over a year ago and it is only 11 pounds. I know they continue to grow for several years so we will see. Whatever it is, I'll love mine, 20 pounds or...
drdoolittle, I really appreciate that and I can completely understand how frustrating it must be to see these pigs being discarded once they no longer fit the "mini pig" mold. I took my kids to the animal sanctuary/farm around here the other day and saw a bunch of pot belly pigs and it made me...
I definitely understand what you both are saying. In fact, my sister and I realized that pigs do need to have other pigs to socialize with so that's why we each got one (same father, different mother). They play outside together in a pen every day and love their time together but also love to...
Oh sorry, you did say they live outdoors but I misread that. You have quite the bunch :-) It must be a lot of fun to have so many. My sister got a pig at the same time I did so we get them together to play pretty much every day but for the most part he is inside with us and brought out to his...
Hi Liz and drdoolittle,
Thanks so much for the reply and advice.
His parents are supposedly only around 20 pounds and Cocco is the runt of the litter so I can't expect him to get to 100, though you never know, especially with my three year old "accidentally" knocking over her bowl full of...
Hi Cornish Heritage,
Well, I'm hoping he will stay mini! It is very controversial though and also very conflicting whether a real mini pig does exist since they are still a variation of the potbelly. Some people say it isn't natural for a pig to stay so small and they are not being fed enough...
Thanks for the welcome, everyone!
Harbisgirl, thanks so much :-) As per your request, I got a video of Coccolino giving a kiss. I just have to post it. I will let you know when I do! And yes, his wagging tail is adorable. Whenever he hears my voice, it starts and doesn't stop!
Thanks! I think since you posted on my blog you found the picture page I included in the previous post :-)
If not, here it is: http://myminipetpig.com/?page_id=54 I update this often enough so we can all see how big he gets! They do grow for about three years, though.
As for the breed, "micro...
