We use 4 strands of high tensile electric fence. We don't need that much electric for the pigs, but they run in the field with cattle, goats, and a dog. The electric is great for keeping them all in!
The piglets are growing, eating grass, and just drifting around the field independent of their mothers at times. One thing I've noticed is that the moms don't care whose babies nurse on them. They are all excellent mothers.
We had 3 litters of pigs this week from our pastured pigs. I have been amazed by this experience, as we have always had our pigs farrow in a crate indoors. We have a total of 37 live pigs! Litter sizes of 11, 11, and 15 and these are first time moms. Altogether they had 44 babies! The first...

A pic of my 90% pasture fed pigs who get an occasional scoop of grain...they are wonderful weed eaters! This was taken in April before the pasture grew. Four of these hogs are now bred, the other was sent for sausage for my neighbor.

Thanks for the welcome! I'm trying to post pics again since I messed up the first time! Unfortunately, I can't post my pics. It's bedtime...so I'll just keep looking at your pics until this old gray head can figure it out!
Hi from West Virginia! I just joined, but have been checking out the forum for a while. Who can resist all those baby pictures!! I have a few pictures to share, hopefully more in the future! Right now I have 13 goats. Lucky 13! 6 Nubian X does, 6 Boer does, and a Boer buck. Some before...
