Gourmet chef for bees....... :love

I wish the name for bees was something other than Apiary. Every time I read that, I keep expecting a gorilla. Makes no sense to me. Who wants to keep a box of gorillas in the back yard?

Tried to get inside pictures, wanted to check the progress they'd made on the banana and pollen patties, all 3 hives attacked my camera...lol They must feel that the pollen patty is worth more protection than the sugar bricks.

I will paint the boxes white and paint the ends where the entrances are a different color. Help the girls find their way home.

Now we need to build the inner covers, feeder boards and lid.

This is getting real! ๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ

Almost finished with the build. Hubs is working on the lid. Once that's done, I can get busy and paint them.

For the feeder boards, hubs used the bottom boards that came with the hives we originally bought. We made screened bottoms and didn't use these.

View with feeder board. I will have to wax this feeder, since part of it is already waxed. Everything else will be painted.

Hubs said he will be building two more Nuc boxes. We will use those as feeder boxes.

We need to get a piece of foam insulation for the lid. The metal top is from our old furnace.

I have the feeder boards between the nuc's here.

That is some real nice plywood, expensive too. Here on BYH we have a tendency to admire things that no normal person would ever even think about.
Plywood scraps--OOOOOOHHHHHH PRETTY!!!
Hay string-I didn't know it came in BLUE!!
Zip ties- @Weldman said use the black ones
Load of rock for the driveway mudhole-I'm so jealous.

I have hay string in red, blue & orange. Some of these trailer loads have 21 bale "bundles" and they use a really heavy twine, it's also blue usually. Once some was white. About 3-4X thickness of the bale string and it's about 35' long ๐Ÿ˜ real good stuff there!

We're really odd for items to make us happy
