I'm trying to wean my 2 month old calf off the bottle. And she would rather eat the goat 12% feed instead of the calf starter.

Is it okay for her to eat it? She'll eat the starter out of my hand after a bottle, but she won't eat it out of the tub. She'll easily go over and try to eat the goats food instead

She needs to be separated so she cannot eat the goat feed. 12% feed is not enough protein for a newly weaned calf to continue to grow. If she doesn't have access to the goat feed she will go for the calf feed. The balance of nutrients is not adequate for good growth. Any all stock feed is not high enough protein for growth... it is adequate for a maintenance diet for adult animals. ,
