Still no updated Google maps pic, so, tried to guess everything out.
Looks like there's only 21.84 acres to use, making 1.8 acre paddocks. But all can't really be like that. So, smallest at 1.6, largest at 2 acres.
Probably going to redo it again, but this is close. Might remove that path between 11 & 12, and make them come back up.
Ram 246's mom moved out with the others to wean him.
They went to new pasture. This is the one that'll extend to the driveway by next year.
The lambs then moved to a new paddock, too.
Wondering what I'll do once there's 12 pastures vs a bunch of little paddocks & a big field To rotate all like previously or to keep the lambs off grass. ugh, idk. Lol
On day 4 of a 5 day cocci treatment.
I guess that's the trade-off, pasture raised has parasites & dry lot has cocci.
Fml
So, I'll have to use cocci preventative feed if I dry lot raise again. More $...
4 were separated from the rest bc of bad poop continuing. 1 of them was put back out after proving to have more solid poops again. All got sanitary trims. Will check the other 3 tonight.
If I'm rotating, I'd hope I wouldn't need as much feed & worming. Kinda the whole point!
Moved lambs to next paddock.
Until today, we've only had about 3 rains. Very cold & dry year! Rained twice today. Really hope the grass starts growing! There's not a ton out there.
Will combine rams & ramlings, then ewes & ewelings soon. Boys will get the 4 acres, while the girls will go out on the big field, if the house work is done by then. If not, I may have to clobber together a paddock to put them into.
May even toss the ramlings out there if there's not enough grass to also sustain them in the ram paddocks...
