Drought has been picking my pocket and hacking my bank account. At least it’s not over 100 degrees now. Supposed to rain tomorrow but it needs to rain for days to make much of a difference.
Yes, exactly!
Several days of decent rain to really do anything at all.

It's dribbling a little right now! Need it to continue! 🤞🤞🤞

The rain that as hit other areas of Va are skirting us here. Got the bad wind, hail and rain last Friday night, lot of damage...a little early Sat. and a light rain overnight on Sunday...but nothing from what they were forecasting for yesterday and today... Hope that you get it over there. The patterns have sure been weird this year. North of Staunton they were in moderate to severe drought and the crops up there are dried up.
We are understocked in the pastures and have adequate grass for the cows luckily.

I've got grass, compliments of ample rain. When NC gets rain in NE area, normally I do also -- only 10-12 miles as a crow flies. So any along VA/NC border usually finds me. It's been a good year for rain, in fact this spring so much no garden...and farmers often planted late. We're still warm enough for grass to grow well.

Going to try to fence in the house & driveway for the year real fast. Then ewes can go out until November 1st, when breeding season will start.

Well. All problems solved, for now, if I just have horse water by the new house and have the track not fully wrap the driveway. Sheep get shade then as well!

Got fencing in place down the driveway and around the house. And spaced out the tposts, too. Just need to pull up the 10 posts around the persimmon trees to reuse, then I can start pounding them all in.

Nothing to eat out here....

This fence will come up to the driveway, eliminating this section of track.

Fence will border both sides, but this side will have additional hot wire fence to make the track.

Left very wide so guy can finish grading this out. It'll then shrink way down to about where the gravel ends.

Fence at top of slope where grass starts. Dirt will be gravel.

Right side has fencing that needs to come up to the driveway.

My son comes and goes with trailers and tractors. I am going to build a barn about halfway up the driveway and there will be no swing room to back a trailer up to the barn unless I leave a WIDE opening . So I’ll have to make a run out to the driveway, park truck and trailer and use hog panels out to the trailer. I don’t like it being so narrow. It’s about 18’ wide.
