Am I seeing things, or is it possible for a 35 day bred doe to be showing? At first I thought, "Hmmm...she looks different. Oh, she must've eaten a lot of hay." After several days of thinking that, I'm wondering if she could actually be showing instead. She's a FF, and no udder development just yet, but she definitely seems to have that extra round look.

What's the earliest that you could see a pregnancy (knowing the breeding date)?

Each goat is different and depending on breed and body structure, will show pregnancy at different times. At 35 days, you are seeing a well-functioning rumen. Also, depending upon the number of kids that she is carrying, and if she truly is pregnant, you may start seeing physical changes a month or so before she kids. Some does never show any physical change until it's the eleventh hour.

Normally I can tell they are pregnant at about 8 weeks, but occasionally one will start to look more filled out in the the rumen area sooner. And some are really hard to tell for the first 3 months or so. I have never had one that I couldn't tell was pregnant by 3 1/2 months. It sure can vary between animals, even similar bloodlines and it also can make a difference if they are carrying a single or multiples.
