Congrats! I see another 4-H project in your future. You can get a White Rock or White Leghorn rooster and produce a flock of "Red Star" chickens. The Red Star is a sex-link chicken produced by your Rhode Island Reds and one of the above roosters, so at hatch, it is easy to tell the females and males apart. Red Stars are also "Rock Stars" at egg production.

I used to be on 4-H. But I showed horses. I did not live on a farm.

3 weeks ago one of the cows had her calf. the cow is my brother's cow and her name is Domino. her baby is a black bald faced heifer calf. i don't have a photo of the baby right now.


2 weeks ago my brother's other cow, Taffy had her calf....Taffy's calf is a black bull calf.


my heifer, Checkers should be calving anytime now. we have her away from the other cows in a calving pen and she will have her calf anytime now.


my cow, Toffee should have her calf sometime in May.
