4-Hgirl --- Me and my animals

We have the calves and pigs unloaded and settled in.

We have 6 bottle calves but only two of them are mine.

My sister gets to name both my calves because I bet her twice that I could beat her in archery and the winner gets to name the other person's bottle calf. So she gets to name both my calves now.

So my dad bought 4 pigs at the auction so we would each have one pig. The person that was taking care of the pigs until after state shoot said that the pigs got sick and my little sister's pig died. So the person gave us two pigs and didn't have us pay for either of them since he felt bad that our pig died while he was taking care of them but it wasn't really their fault because show pigs get sick all the time so sometimes you can't do anything for them. The two replacement pigs were a Duroc gilt and a Poland China gilt. So now my oldest sister has a Hampshire girl, my brother has a Hereford barrow, my little sister has a Duroc gilt and I have a Hampshire girl and a Poland China gilt.

I was only planning to have one pig but now I have two pigs since my brother has a bunch of shooting events this summer and he doesn't have time for two pigs and neither of my sisters are that good at training pigs and couldn't handle training more then one pig.

I think I might end up doing most of the training for my little sister's Duroc and since my older sister will ruin her pig i will have to retrain her Hampshire. I don't know what my older sister does to her pigs but her pigs are always terrors and don't listen at all so I have to train her pigs for her.

i was sitting in the pen with the pigs and my Poland China came up to me and crawled into my lap and then she would just lay on me and chew on my boot.

Here is a photo of my Poland China gilt. She was trying to get my book.

A few days ago we took Stitch to the chiropractor and the lady doing it says that there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with him.

Stitch likes me and my little sister and he doesn't really like when my mom tries to pet him and today when we were loading him on the trailer to go to the chiropractor my dad had to lead him on the trailer since Stitch will sometimes back up fast and hard and my mom didn't want me or my sister leading him onto the trailer. As soon as my dad started leading Stitch then Stitch would back up hard and fast and rear up a bit but my dad got him settled down and he loaded nicely.

Once we were at the chiropractor my dad led Stitch into a room through a sliding garage door. Stitch was in the room for a few minutes and then he flipped out and backed up really hard and fast and pushed out of the sliding garage door and he backed into a car outside. We got Stitch back into the building and he was just fine and didn't get hurt and the rest of the time he was good but he dented the hood of the car.

When we got him home my dad was untying him in the trailer and my dad was untying his rope and Stitch took a few steps back and when the rope pulled tight Stitch flipped out and my dad got the rope untied and Stitch backed out of the trailer as fast as he possibly could.

We are sending him to a trainer to see if a trainer can help.

I had a horse at a trainer one time for not wanting to be tied. He had a rope that hung from a tree branch and clipped on a halter. The tree was festooned with flapping plastic grocery bags. The branch was strong enough not to break, but would flex a little. It was overhead so hard to pull back on.
What method will the trainer use? You have a learning opportunity here.

I don't know what method the trainer is using. We haven't talked to the trainer in person so I don't really know what the trainer is going to be doing. But when we drop Stitch off the trainer will probably say something about what he will do but I don't know.

Too bad you can't just sit and watch quietly. It could be a huge learning experience for you. Yeah - I know it will take a lot of time days/weeks - but if the trainer is close I would think it would be good to watch (not jabber on while the trainer is working) and learn.
