Beginning today, Google has made it harder to use a photo or other image from it's search. They have removed the "view' button so you now have to either go to the web page where the photo originally came from, or right click and then choose 'open in new tab' or 'view image' or use the 'share' button but it is possible the forum you might be posting on's software will tell you something like "It is not possible to determine image's dimensions" when you attempt to post a 'borrowed image.
There are other workarounds of course and the link covers some of them.

It's why in some of the posts, we are seeing this image today:
redx.jpg

or this:
edgex.jpg

People are attempting to post images from Google search and it won't post anything but the dreaded red x...or other, depending which browser they are using to view with. I haven't checked but I don't think it will affect google hosted images already posted here before 2-15-2018.

Just to be clear (and to reiterate what we have in our Terms and Rules), "In general, you agree not to post any material that is illegal, libelous, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, harassing, threatening, invasive of another person's privacy, or a violation of copyright."

All images have some form of copyright, and it's up to the person posting the image to make sure they have valid rights to use the images they find online. There have been cases of copyright owners suing people that use their images without permission, so please be careful when using (copying, saving, posting, etc.) an image that isn't one you took yourself!

Absolutely and it's why Google made the change. Pressure and threat of European lawsuit from Getty Images (another image hosting company) that claimed they were losing $$$$. Of course, Getty themselves are pretty good at the same game and have been found guilty of image copyright infringement multiple times.
