I have a 3-4 week old Nubian (possibly Guernsey crossed) goat, and have just noticed that she has about a ping pong sized abscess on her side, the CO position between her thigh and stomach. She has only had 1 shot, but that was in her arm. I'm worried that it could be CL, but I've read that it shouldn't show up this early. Some possibly important information: we just got 3 make sheep, 4 months old. Have not been CL tested. We also have a few horse flies, and I heard they can also transmit CL. Your thoughts? (I'll try to get a picture tomorrow morning)

Sounds like too many possibilities....

Since you have no idea if any of the livestock have CL... that can't be ruled out unless you get a vet to test the abscess.

That might be a good idea in any case... since then if it is something else... well... the vet can tell you that too.
