I have two 4 week old Nigerian dwarfs, one male and a female, I need to know when I should band him so she doesn’t get pregnant as I don’t want her getting pregnant to early and I don’t have a separate enclosure. Is there another way like a buck apron bc I do want to breed her eventually.

I don't know goats, but someone else here could probably help you.

Once you band him (castrate) it is irreversable. Were you planning on breeding him to her?

You can wait until they are 2 months old but probably not much later. Since they are Nigerian Dwarfs at 4 weeks the testicles are still pretty small so may be harder to band. Give them their CDT shots now so the Tetanus will be in effect by the time you band him.

I gave the cdt shot last week and I was wanting to breed them but not until she’s older obviously

Then, you don't want to band him. Irreversible.

There are buck aprons but, not a positive choice long term. Separation is best and even that is hard with their escape antics. They like company & it's why many owners have a wether to live with their buck. The breed you have cycles all year. Many of the large dairy breeds are seasonal breeders.
