Definitely worth trying the shield. He will still probably be overly interested in the ewes but won't be able to knock into them as easily. Wish I had this 25 years ago for our big Hampshire ram. he was big as a small Shetland pony and mean as sin. A real man killer! You hs to lure him to the fence line feeder and halter him, then tie him, before entering the pen with him. Once in the halter he could be handled.

In the meantime, also try to put some cattle panels around one of the run in sheds to put the ram up. He man be getting aggravated because the ewes are bred and won't let him breed them. Sometimes close to lambing the ewes' smell can confuse the ram into thinking they are in estrus.

I'm loving the ram shield!

I'd do what Ridgetop says and keep the beggar away from them.

I'm lucky in that all the rams that I have kept have been gentleman around the pregnant ladies.
