Also... a lynx has been hanging out at the house... I was wondering if it was rabid, or sick.... but now I am pretty sure it is healthy, and has started coming around for the fresh, liquid water I had been leaving out.

Also.... that is probably what freaked out the geese, what was that, 2 weeks back?

Anyway, geese are no longer allowed to free range, which also means that water pan is now dry! So hopefully the lynx will move on.

Had to go to Anchorage for medical. Horrid huge city... over 200k!!! :ep if you include all of the outskirts etc. It is up to 400k !! So, half of Alaska's population is living there! :tongue

I am so glad I do not live there! After showing up in Anchorage (also called Los Anchorage as a nod to LA and some of their gangs and violence that they have sent up here) on Tuesday, I said THAT WAS IT!!! I was not driving back in the dark. So I added a day to the hotel stay.

So... on Tuesday we are driving home, we leave at 10:30ish so it is bright-ish out.

And we are of course still driving at noon... and THERE is the sun, at noon, dead center south, barely over the mountains.

Funny place. I remember Texas... I think the sun sets there in 5 minutes. Here... 3 hours later, maybe it is fully down.

If you remember Texas, then you remember 200,000 is a small town and no big deal. Houston and area is ....... I dunno, maybe 6 to 10 million?
Which is why... it doesn't matter how much I grow to hate the cold, I could NEVER move back to that many people! :ep :old

Talking of people.... neighbors lost track of their husky, for the SECOND TIME, and it had fun with my poultry.

All of the poultry were locked up, but the dog popped open the coop door and let himself in.

3 leghorns dead, my only pencilled rock, one old Spitz, and one muscovy drake.

2 of the dead leghorns, and the old Spitz, were hanging on but looking bad last night. No obvious wounds, so it was internal or stress... Anyway... kid 2 refortified the coop this morning, and found those dead. So, since he knew I was coming home in an hour or 2, and would then be loading up to go to the dump... had left the last 3 corpses at the front door.

So... I drove up to an eagle that had already found them.
