I just got an adult female American Guinea Hog. I was wondering if anyone has any advice on how to take care of her? I read they are pasture pigs but I only have an acre so she is in a 20' x 16' pen with a shelter made from pallets so she don't have to sleep in the mud. I could only find 14% sweet feed because my feed store was out of hog feed. How much does an adult female eat? Do I give her hay since she isn't able to forage like she's supposed to?
She looks way too fat to me but like I said I have no experience with any kind of pig.
Thank you all for your help!

Yes on hay. When you cut grass, throw it to her. Extra veggies, leftover food in frig...regular garbage cans, they are. 😁 Probably a pint of food 2xdy. Less if a lot of scraps. Pigs are "fat". Laying, she's got belly. Standing, she's fine. Was she alone where you got her? 🤔

Thank you! She was with other females. The man said he had a boar but he got rid of him. All the other females had babies. She was the only one without any so I don't think she is pregnant.

Lol....love the last line! If others had new piglets, and boar hadn't been gone moe than 4 mos...🤷. I used to keep a bagger on my mower, cut a strip each day & dump into them. They loved it.

😂 Oh man, that would be crazy if she has piglets!
That sounds fantastic! We don't have a bagger on our mower but I will rake the clippings and give them to her!
