my daughter is begging me for pigs. I wanted pigs anyhow, so I want to get her the pigs. After extensive reading and research we decided on the
American Guinea Hog. Since these will be pets for her I want a breeding pair (offspring = meat for me). I have searched high and low and all of the guinea hogs I've found are 8 hours from here (here = west TN near memphis) Surely there is someone raising these pigs close to here. Any suggestions on how to find them?

have you checked out the American Guinea Hog Association online? They list some of the breeders. Also, there's a yahoo group for AGH's. Good luck, they are a good pig!

There may or may not be someone closer. When we looked into Guinea hogs, the closest breeders were in PA and I'm in Ohio. And there really weren't any closer. But maybe you will luck out. Maybe post an ad on Craigslist and see if anyone has some near you.
