This morning 6:00
27 degrees outside
30 degrees in the shelter

No ice, no freezing

It is supposed to stay above freezing for a few days so there will be nothing to report.

we do something similar, but if you switch from the plastic containers to the black rubber containers it will really help, keep it from freezing,

get the onse that look more like rubber tires and not rubber plastic, the rubber plastic onse crack too easily if the water does freeze.

Good idea! I wanted to set up something really inexpensive to test the thoery so I went with cheap. If my experiment works I will probably upgrade to the rubber buckets. It doesn't get so cold here that I have had any issues with the plastic buckets cracking in the past, but it only takes once. Thank you.

My goal is to keep the water liquid down to an outside temperature of 20 degrees. It rarely stays colder than that for long here.
