I picked up Annie from the vet's today. She has pneumonia and is on penicillian and banamine for a few days.

I don't have any probios here, but I did put some yogurt in her feed this evening. Will that work OK? Should I drive back into town tomorrow and get the probios.??

I'm never without Probios. If I ran out, I'd drive into town and pick some up ASAP...whether I actually needed it ASAP or not.

That's just me, though.

Just out of curiosity...what's the dosage of the penicillin? I dunno how your goat vet is, but sometimes they tend to underdose things for goats (treating them like cattle) and I know the dosage of regular ol' Penicillin for goats is pretty doggone high..

For everyone's info:

Annie's dosage for her pneumonia:

Banamine 0.5cc under the skin once per day for 3 days.

Penicillin G: 5.5 cc under the skin once per day for 10 days.

be careful with the penicillin.. seems to burn.. also definately keep some probios on hand.. never be without 1 or ten tubes.. feeding yogurt to a goat is nearly impossible.
