Hello everyone! I need some help from the experts here. I am trying to start up a small rabbitry, slowly but surely we are getting there. I currently have 4 Mini Rex babies, 3 of which I am adding to my 'herd'. I am having trouble with identifying what colors they are, two I think I know but I need to be sure so I can put the correct color on they're papers. I am thinking one is harlequin, though I'm only about 25% sure, lol. I know there is 2 variations, magpie and japanese, I believe. Another one I am not sure what so ever. One i believe is a broken red and the last I believe is a fawn. I've attached pictures so any information will be greatly appreciated! My doe's last litter consisted of 3 charlies, and one broken castor, so with this litter being so different, I'm clueless. Thanks!

I cant remember if this is the one I'm not sure about, at a couple of weeks the possible harlequin one and this one looked very similar but they are about 2 months old now so obviously a lot older and more filled out. Thanks!

Looks like fawn, reds and harlequin. Some harlequins are more lightly marked than others. Also may be lighter if they are also fawn based (dilute) over red based. I will tag @Bunnylady , she's our color genetics expert. ;)

Just to touch on the harlequin colors quick, Japanese is black, blue, chocolate, or lilac in combination with an orange/fawn base while magpie is the four colors in combination with a white base
So the one that looks harlequin would be a black Japanese harlequin. It does look very lightly marked though with the bands not being completely one color.

As for the others, the broken is most likely red and the other is maybe fawn, but it almost looks like it has shading on its face and ears.

In your last photo it looks to be harlequin, especially with the black running up its side to its back.

What do you mean by "rabbitry"? If you mean you want a meat rabbitry, you are in great shape. Rex are probably the 3rd best meat breed. If you mean a showing rabbitry, you're in big trouble. Harlequin is not a recognized Mini Rex color, at least not yet.
