I am a farming mother who gave up being a Vet Tech for my 4 children and many animals. I have been raising Nubians, Small Chops ( our 1/8 pot belly mixes that max at 300# fast going on 9years now), geese ( mixed breeds) Muscovies, chickens, a rabbit colony, 2 LGD great Dane mixes, cats and what ever else gets handed to me as the "family animal person". We are 99% off grid and have been for over two years and moved to our farm with most of the animals we have now on a 300mile trip. Hello to everyone here from North Florida!

Hi welcome! I am actually new to byh. But, I thought I would say hi. I have Muscovies, chickens, and dogs. No real herds though. Just like the byh atmosphere and I can always dream, right?

Good morning and Welcome from VA.

What is 99% off grid? :) You have solar electric, etc.? How large is your property?

You should put the area you are living in your profile, sometimes the questions/answers change with locations. I had several real estate holdings in Melbourne & homestead locations for years. Not been back to FL in about 15 years now but, was a good time then. Personally, I like central better as there is more of a rural setting.

Greetings and welcome to BYH from NE TX! So glad you joined us. Sounds like you have quite the menagerie! There's a wealth of info, knowledge and experience shared in the multitude of threads. Browse around and see what interesting stuff you can find. By all means post away when the desire strikes you, especially if you have questions (provide as much detail/info as possible and pictures truly help)... With all the great folks here, generally someone will respond in no time at all. Please make yourself at home!

PLEASE put at least your general location in your profile. It could be very important if/when you ask for or offer help or advice. You know, climate issues and such. I recommend at least your state as most folks won't be able to figure out where if you put anything more specific (county, town, street, etc) by itself. Old folks like me :oldwill never remember & look there first. To add it, mouse hover over Account top right and a drop down will appear. Click on Personal Details and scan down. You'll see the spot for Location. Then go to the bottom and save changes. Thanks! Hope you enjoy the site!
