We are in the process of building a larger 10 stall barn attached to our garage on one end and the peafowl and storage barn on the other. We want to find not only trail cams for the pastures, but also cameras for inside all of the barns.

We want something we can check on our cells if we aren't home and something with audio so we can hear any commotion. Does anyone have any suggestions? We like the idea of wireless but we want to use the same system for our home system, ideally. My concern is from our studio at one side of the house to the end of the peafowl house at the other end, it's over 170'. The house is set up so everything is attached; I can walk from the studio through the house into the garage, shop, barn, peafowl house without going outside, so worst case scenario we technically could run wires but I worry the livestock would find a way to chew it up.

Any suggestions?

I have a security system on my house thats wired. I also have some wifi cams outside.
Wyze cam runs about $25 dollars. Its not rated for outdoors, but many users mount them under eaves or protected areas or put them in some sort of enclosure to keep them out of the weather. You can download an app to watch them. They require an outlet for power. Two way audio.
Blink cameras run on batteries and you can get the outdoor XT. They can be mounted anywhere. They also have two way audio.
Netgear is good. Battery operated and can be mounted anywhere.
I have a Bushnell Trophycam and just bought a Sava trailcam for the barn.

Here are just a few to look over. As far as the wifi distance, you can get an extender to help with the signal.

Hope this helps.

We have a couple different wireless Netgear systems but our shop/barn is just out of range of the wireless base station in the house. Our solution was to get another base station and place it at the other end of the house to decrease the range.

We've just bought a pretty expensive CCTV camera for our sheep shed which both pans around the shed and has 'night vision setting'.

To be honest it was an indulgence to reduce the number of trips through cold/ice/rain/snow etc to the sheep shed during the up-coming lambing period.

There are a good many systems on the market, both wired and wireless....I'm sure you can find a relatively inexpensive system to suit your needs.
