Baymule’s Journal

I don’t think I posted this, but if I did, here it is again. LOL

Back behind the sheds in the back yard, was an old roping chute. And it was filled with huge, thorny blackberry canes, 10 feet tall. A tangled awful mess. Naturally the fence was stapled on the inside.

The end of January, Layne and I measured off 80 feet and cut the wire on both sides of the chute. Then he used his grapple to pull the posts and wire up.

Then he mowed down all those awful blackberry vines.

Just freaking awesome! I couldn’t believe how much better it looked!

Then a few days later I hurt my back, had to go to ER and I was down and couldn’t do a darn thing.

March 2, Layne moved a shipping container over in its nice clean spot!

It is now leveled and blocked up. I’m beyond thrilled. I’ll be able to start moving my tools in it, put shelves in it and maybe finally be able to find stuff! The other one is still out in the field, maybe next time he’s off.
What a difference! I'd be thrilled, too.

Neighbor Kyle called right about dark, he works out of town. His wife Courtney had just got home with the kids, a 3 year old and 6 month old. She found a snake in the chicken coop and was helpless to do anything about it. He also called Charles. I grabbed a shovel, rake, flashlight and went over, Charles pulled up at the same time. We couldn't find the snake. Courtney saw it in a covered tray, she got pruning loppers and I grabbed the snake with them. I dragged it outside and Charles bashed it with a sledge hammer. Then he buried it in the compost heap. I've gone over there 3 or 4 times to kill a snake. Once to shoot a raccoon. LOL

Their chicken coop is a 1980 model goose neck horse trailer. Not road worthy any more, Courtney and Kyle's Dad transformed it into a chicken coop.

Pruning loppers are my snake Copperhead assault weapon of choice.
