Baymule’s Journal

Dang -- y'all have me thinking I don't want to have an "annual check up" 😳. Some pill pusher might suggest I have problems 🤔😖 that I don't. Been 26 yrs since last one.

Saving you time --- 🤣

Top Natural Vitamin D Sources

Cod Liver Oil: The highest source, with one tablespoon providing roughly 227% of the daily value (DV).
Fatty Fish: Trout, salmon, tuna, sardines, and mackerel are excellent, with 3 ounces providing 100-600+ IU.
Egg Yolks: Contains Vitamin D, particularly if from hens raised outdoors.
Mushrooms: Varieties exposed to UV light contain significant amounts, often labeled "high in Vitamin D".
Beef Liver: Provides a small, consistent amount of vitamin D.

Turns out that Vitamin D doesn't absorb from the sun as easily as you age.
Absolutely! Older, tougher tanned skin does not absorb as well as it did when we were younger. So, the simple solution is to sunbathe NUDE! :hide

Let the sunshine hit those places it usually doesn't get to.

Google says so - so it must be true!

"The most effective way to get vitamin D from the sun is on areas of skin that are not heavily tanned or protected by sunscreen, but it only takes short intervals of exposure (10–20 minutes) to create adequate levels."

I've met a few sneering physicians. That type just wants you to take their drugs so they can get a bonus. When Ron told his PCP that getting chiropractic adjustments had reduced his high blood pressure the doctor sneered "Maybe it can reduce your cholesterol, too!" We changed doctors.

For the last 20+ years I have had an asymptomatic bulging disk at C5-6, probably from several rear end collisions. If I get tingly forearms it means the nerves are being affected, and so I go see my chiropractor. It rarely happens.

One thing I have learned in the last 30+ years is back surgery should be a last resort, as in you cannot walk or are losing bathroom control. What isn't always explained to patients is back surgery has a 50% success rate. And each additional surgery is less likely to succeed.

Hahaha, I just remembered something, when I roofed houses in my early 20's, instead of going down the ladder, I just jumped off the roof. I don't do THAT anymore!
Also jumping off horses to dismount is the #1 reason so many rodeo ropers need hip repacements. My uncle was a calf roper in the rodeos. No dismounting normally, jump off the horse and hit the ground running to get the calf flipped and hog tied. He needed hip replacements in his 70's. No wonder those old timey cowboys and even some of the modern ones can barely hobble around. LOL

Take care of what you have. :fl

Had fun at TexKats. Lots of good information. One family showed up with 3 little kids and babies-twins in a double stroller. Talked to several people who were studying sheep, gathering information before they actually buy sheep. I have to admit I was impressed at their preparedness, something I’m not good at. Good speakers, on various subjects.

Funny thing, @Margali and I always share a room. Third year in a row we got the same room! I told her that they ought to put our names on the door! Cassandra came too and brought things to keep her busy. I think she had a good time too.

May 7, Thursday! Buford is going to be so excited!

I'm tired. I've been on the run and I'll still be going for awhile. Pick up puppy Thursday, 4 hour drive one way. Company coming in Friday, catering a wedding Saturday. My friend/daughter Sarah and her daughter and mom are coming in, Sarah is catering a wedding an hour and half away. Staying here to save on B&B cost. She brings her dogs, they will have the front yard, daughter can let them in and out. I'll close off the driveway with a cow panel, Carson can have the rest of the yard. Daughter is autistic and she can let them in and out while we are gone. I'll go help her cater the wedding and we'll have a good time. They will go home Sunday.

In the meantime, my house looks like an explosion took place and I've got to get it to look less destroyed. My house cleaning skills are like pulling the trigger on a sawed off shotgun. BB's fly everywhere, practically everything gets hit, but not a killing shot. Clutter. My nemesis is clutter. I ignore it, after awhile it becomes part of the furniture and I just don't see it anymore. I have too much crap. So I need to declutter whatever I can, dust, sweep, mop, and do general clean up. I only have to make myself happy and my happy place is outside. Gonna be busy this week.
