Today I went and learned how to disbud, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I also picked up a doe in milk, and tried milking her this evening. She was a real sweetie, she stood pretty still on the ground (my milkstand isn't finished yet) and gave me and my husband kisses and ate her goatie granola, and gave me almost a pint of milk! Wow! Oh, and she farted almost constantly. Peeyew!

She was great with my fumbling first attempts, I'm so happy for both of us. :D

Thursday I helped my other doe give birth, she had an adorable doeling. I'll give them 2 weeks together and try separating the baby at night and milking in the morning.

Glad to hear that she is milking good for you! I'm starting off with a relatively stubborn doe, but as many of my new friends on BYH have been telling me, when/if she starts getting defiant, the key is to say and repeat:

"I AM THE GOAT BOSS"
